They are deep with returning players. They played LSU prety damn hard in the SECCG until the second half.
Special teams fiascos is what hurt us in this game. Once we melted down on special teams, momentum was lost and we fell apart in the second half.

Bama and LSU are still ahead of UGANDA, but the Dawgs can play with them ala SEC championship game in the first half

We will be good enough to beat Bama or LSU in the SEC championship if:
1. special teams drastically improves
2. our offensive line holds up (we have a lot of talent here, but not an abundance of experience)
3. Aaron Murray steps up in big games
4. We get past Mizzou. I am worried about this because of our suspensions at CB and it being an early away game, although Branden Smith might not be suspended. He has been in some sort of prevention program to ge the charges reduced, and we haven't leveled a suspension yet. I don't think he should be suspended, as he was just a passenger in the car that had pot in it, it wasn't found on him. He was basically guilty by association.
5. Crowell steps it up.
Our defense should be lights out this year with 9 starters returning.
Our special teams is my biggest concern.

Has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. But yes...we do. And it's awesome

I have been hearing that a lot. But this is the SEC and things change year to year. Any time you have Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, and as of late USCe on the schedule it's going to be tough regardless. But I do understand why people feel this way as 3 of those teams have been down as of late, but you really never know year to year. I didn't include Mizzou, because I don't know what to expect with them, as far as adjusting to SEC play.

I agree with you on the SEC and being a bit unpredictable, but Richt would have to royally screw up the season not to get y'all there. like really shite the bed.

Fair enough and I can't disagree too much. Who knows if UT gets its shite together (because offensively they have some talent), how UF responds in year 2 under Muschamp will be interesting (D will be good, not too sure on the offense yet) and how MU performs in a brand new league will all be kind of fun to watch.

quote:I agree somewhat. I could easily see us winning out or losing 2 games in the SEC. South Carolina has to go to play LSU and Arky, so that helps us if we lose to them. I think we could have a great year. Also, I don't get all the hate for Richt. He's not a bad coach. He's been close several times to making the BCSNCG. The ball just didn't roll our way on those 2 occasions.

I'd give south carolina a better chance than UGA in all honesty, assuming lattimore returns to form.
Connor Shaw, while streaky, can be a good QB. Until Murray beats a team with a pulse I'm not sold on him and would consider him one of the most overrated players in the league.
LSU better be careful with OBC this year

We are better than them at everything except HC and having a star RB

This is stupid. They do not have a better chance than UGA. They have to play everyone in the east and Arky and LSU. Georgia's chances are waaaaaaayyy better as we pull an Auburn team we thumped last year, and Ole Miss.
SC 5 straight games of Georgia, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, and Arkansas does not bode well for their chances at getting to Atlanta. (I know this is not the topic, but it seems like that is what it has turned into.) I think both SC and Georgia could pull an upset on LSU, or Bama.

I told Crow that if he led the league in rushing that I'd give him a lifetime's worth of pizza lunchables...Heisman here we come.

We also were smarter this year because cmr sent me to a dispensary in CO and now we have a program similar to pay 2 play but we work with a different kinda green. Look for our RB and DB corps to go ape titties

Both of which are very key.
O-line is very debatable and I like their dline over uga too. Taylor and Clowney are right up there with mingo and montgomery as far as great duos go
I wasn't saying who I thought would make it to atl I was just saying I think SC would have a better chance at beating bama/lsu than uga would...they have talent and a great coach

i think our depth at RB helps close the gap at RB but we still don't have a latty unless crowell comes out firing on all cylinders this year. and i am pretty sure souf curralina replaces a few OL too this year. and we have beaten spurrier plenty of times.
as for DL, naw, i'd take ours. it's as deep as it's ever been and we don't just specialize in pass rush.
