You keep mentioning "second chances" with respect to teams that didn't win their conference. I personally don't feel that a 2 or 3 loss conference champion is automatically more deserving of a second (or 3rd or 4th) chance than a 1 loss team that didn't win its conference.

Thoughts?

Toes in the pool of a "play-in" Championship trial balloon, but expressed in a completely non-BCS game context?

The Rose Bowl is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of a playoff. Brilliant move by Slive to marginalize it.

If the above tweet by Matt Hayes is true, It seems that they've been put on notice...

Anyone else think this is the beginning of the end to the current bowl system??

Getting rid of the bowl committee’s & their executives cuts out the middle man and eliminates the absurd wining and dining & the under the table deals made with fat bowl execs who were going to games to determine which teams would play in which bowls despite the fact that most of them are slotted any ways. I like the idea of the schools and conferences running their own major Bowls... If anything, this may lead to fewer meaningless bowls, but larger payouts.

I wish we could have gotten WVU and VT instead of these 2 trash teams. Both of them make it to BCS games. Mizzzou and A&M are shite.

how hard is it for some of yall to understand VT is basically tied at the hip to UVA now after pulling favor after favor to get in the ACC no way in hell UVA just lets them walk away. If they never back stabbed the Big East 10 years ago since they were part of the original law suite to keep Miami, BC and potentially Cuse at the time and stuck with the law suit they may have been #14 in the SEC already

yea it sucks but o well WVU and VT would have brought in a hated and i mean hated rivalry into the SEC. I don't want to get into a pissing match with Mizzou fans on here who claim their program is good as WVU but we are 14 on the all time wins list while they are like 34

Doesn't matter what anyone does; you can't marginalize the Rose Bowl...that's like trying to marginalize the Oval Office...doesn't matter who's playing in the game, it gets the highest ratings every year outside of the BCS Natty.

That's like the A&M fan saying their program is better than Tennessee.

You are so misinformed, that it is laughable....

VT has stated repeatedly that they are more than happy in the CURRENT ACC, but if things change, they are ready to move.

This has been stated to the SEC, that if the ACC makeup changes, we are here, and we are interested

As for UVa, they are a great school, and will be fine no matter what VT does.

And if you think we back stabbed the BE, you could not be more wrong...it must have the been the full share we had all those years, oh wait, that never happened, if anyone is to blame, it was Tranghese, and you know it

yea um no im from va and saw it all unfold

UVA would tie shite up so bad it wouldn't be funny. The UVA backers and the pro ACC VT people would not let a move happen unless UVA was breaking away from the ACC

yea he sucked but when VT was not part of the ACC's original expansion you guys kicked and screamed like 12 year old girls and while you where part of the law suit to keep the BE together you were working behind the scenes to get out at the same time thus having UVA pull strings to get in you the ACC no way you just up and leave after being in the ACC for 9 or 10 years

Too bad aTm and Mizzou won't be relevant enough to play in this game...

Same with Arkansas. They have yet to win an SEC championship.
