They better because playing a&m on thanksgiving would suck.

Playing in College Station the first week of September would suck worse.

With the NFL now having 3 games on Thanksgiving I think that LSU vs. A&M should be that final weekend. Thanksgiving is quickly getting taken over by the NFL. 3 NFL games this year and t.u. vs. TCU.

Well, TG weekend is the traditional rivalry weekend; UF-FSU, MSU-Miss, Clemson-SC are all TG weekend, right?

I agree no Thursday, but Friday night or Saturday gets plenty of attention.

I'm looking forward to the revival of the LSu/aTm series.

My main problem with it being on the opening weekend is that it would be insanely hot at either location for that game, hopefully would be at night.

It will FOREVER get rid of the UT/A&M rivalry game, which at this point most Aggies no longer care about or want.

Amen to that.

As for the game, there are some heavy hitters pushing for us to play LSU on T-day. It is going to happen. Arkansas is reportedly very upset to have their schedule tweaked but this is a discussion that is above their level of importance or influence.

Yeah. There is a long history on the Rivalries board that is hard to understand (or tolerate) if you haven't been involved for at least 5 years. The football board appears to be comprised of nothing but children and every other board is simply boring. The Rant is much better (except for Rivalries, which is nearly as good as the rant, unless you are new and don't get the banter)

Totally disagree. TexAgs posters are getting more and more childish. I was paying for the varsity level for a while just to have intelligent conversations and get some sane discourse, but then I discovered I can get the same level for free on SECr. Now I just go to TexAgs for the 'inside info' which is pretty good and isn't as homerish as you'd think most of the time.

Shanetheleg, I will confirm that is was. Especially the year Harvey Williams spurned Jackie...If you could ask Harvey (I have) what the hardest hit he every took, he'll tell you it was Johnny Holland (both Hempstead boys). Harvey was out on his feet walking back to the wrong sidelines! If the Aggies can get back to being the Aggies of he 80-90's the LSU game will be oustanding in all aspects!

This. I don't care one way or the other if we finish the year with Arky or A&M, but in no way do I want us playing on Thanksgiving Day. That day clearly belongs to the NFL. Like another poster said, I like watching football games on Thanksgiving with no emotional investment in a team.

Yeah, the rumors "will not go away" as in, Liucci simply re-stated the same shite that was said several months ago.

I'm fine with ending the regular season with A&M but not on Thanksgiving day.

You probably said the same thing about the A&M-SEC rumors from summer 2010-summer 2011....The sooner you accept the fact that Mizzou is your new rival, the better off we will all be.

Apparently ESPNU has been shitting themselves over the prospect of televising this game.

I'd bet it'll be t-day +1. As was stated the NFL has a hold on t-day. A +1 would give a majority of the drunk, turkey addled masses a reason to get drunk again.

Seems like that would be a pretty big deal. I assume Arky is going to start playing Mizzou at the end of the year?
