Lucky him.

My understanding was that he got probation and some community service.

Usually means he plead to a lesser offense and got probation. My guess is 2-3 years probation, fines and restitution ($26 I believe).

YO can save your arse if you are young enough and get a judge willing to go along with it on a Class A felony case.

So it appears. Glad it seems like he took advantage of his second chance and isn't screwing it up.

Question for the Bama posters on here. Whatever happened with Jeremy Elder? I see where he was charged with two counts of 1st degree robbery, but never saw an outcome to the trial.

Idk but pretty sure it's over and done with. Want to say he's playing ball again somewhere.

Fake weed. Or "incense" if you will. It's now illegal in Alabama.

Message sent to Updyke, Lee county DA thinks penalty for tree poisoning will be harsher than armed robbery.

Do some of y'all actually still believe this? I know this has been a popular stance on bamamag, but with the outcome today, can you admit that you all were dead wrong?

I would bet the offers to some of the other perpetrators in this robbery are for less time than the 13 years offered to Updyke.

If a student had committed this offense without calling Finebaum he would have received probation and community service for his prank gone awry. Updyke's punishment is being enhanced due to his status as a Bama fan as well as his call to Finebaum seeking "credit" for the Act. Send a message to lunatic fans that this conduct will not be tolerated.

Max sentence under Youthful Offender status is 3 years, for any offense. That is why sometimes Judges deny YO status in murder cases, and treat the offender as an adult.

My post was regarding Elder receiving youthful offender status. Records are sealed and maximum sentence is three years. Doesn't apply to Goodwin.

Antonio Goodwin jailed, faces steep prison sentence after robbery conviction. He could face at least 20 years in prison.

https://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/04/antonio_goodwin_jailed_faces_s.html

Class A
These are the highest felon convictions received in the state of Alabama. With this conviction, the sentence received can be no less than 10 years and no more than life or ninety-nine years. If a deadly weapon, more specifically a firearm was used in this crime the conviction will be twenty years minimum. Fines are no more than $60,000.

With all the attention of the Updyke trial this has gone on the back burner. Goodwin's sentencing is today. According to Christina Chambers of NBC 38, the state is asking for the maximum: no less than 45 years!

Really hope high school recruits are paying attention to this. One minute, you're a college football superstar. One bad decision later, you're a dead man walking.

Kids can make mistakes -- we all do -- but I hope they don't make them on this grand of a scale.

Don't feel bad for Goodwin, but I feel bad for his family and friends.

Wait a minute... wasn't this trial going on weeks ago? What the hell took it do long to finish up?

Or is this the second one?

In either case, what... a... bunch... of... dumbasses.
