No, it doesn't clear shite up.
Its all pretty stupid assumptions on your part when he has been here a year and has shite to work with this year with no depth.
Nolan won 12 games his first year, didn't make the big dance til his 3rd. Where were you then? Eddie stopped recruiting before he left. Nolan had a similar situation to what Mike has now.
Where would our program gone had we gotten rid of Nolan after year one?
You're stating an opinion with no facts to support it.

Nobody cares about the ethnicity of your old lady.
You obviously have something against MA, and it can't be his track record you hold against him. He's proven himself everywhere he has been.

When the system is clicking, there is no more entertaining hoops to watch. The problem is if it is not clicking, it is the polar opposite of entertaining!

Look it's my opinion. I get it. You think it sucks and I'm wrong. I get it. I happen to think your opinion is wrong about MA. See how that works both ways? I contend that the excuses will continue to flow as to why we didn't win this year, and next year, and next and next and so on and so on. I've heard we're a young basketball team, no lie, for 12 years. This year it was fatigue, and youth. Next year it will be youth and ______?

I love it.
We won 18 games this season. I looked for 17 wins going into this season. After we lost Powell, my thinking went down to 15.
His style of defense, when he gets his players makes the opponent play perfect. Its a style that forces a team to make mistakes. You're gonna give up some easy baskets, but you are also going to wear teams down and make them quit.

The only thing I have against MA is his system. I do not think it will work in this league. I've explained why. I don't know how much clearer to make it. There is nothing else nefarious or conspiratorial about it. It is not the man, It is his system. Paragraph and period.

You have NO facts to support your opinion. None.
All the while I've shown what MA has done at his previous programs. I've shown what Nolan did in a similar situation.
You're basically "hoping" MA fails here. I'm not sure why, but there's a reason.
None of your opinions hold any water when there is nothing to support your argument. So yes, your opinion is shite.
Provide me with some sort of factual evidence to support your theory on Anderson, and Ill listen. Keep on with all this garbage you've been spewing, and myself and everyone else will laugh and call you an idiot.

So, it worked in C-USA and the Big 12...both much better leagues than the SEC over the last 7-8 years, but it can't work here, in this league?
That's the dumbest shite I've ever heard.
Seriously, are you always this fricking stupid?

I don't agree with City, but I also don't fault his reasons for forming his opinion. we were never the same after the hand checking rule was changed. We suffered greatly when the media timeouts were standardized at 16, 12, 8, and 4 minutes. I remember our NCAAT game against Iowa in Boise. We had them on the ropes in the altitude. Huffing and puffing and grabbing their shorts. Then, a 3 minute tv timeout. They got their breath and we were ineffective the rest of the way. I think there is merit to that.
However, the key to our success under MA with his system - as with most every other program - is getting better players than our opponents. We won in 94, largely because we were stacked 12 deep.

Your last point is my biggest point of all.
You can't form an opinion of a coach when he has 10 scholly players. 1 is out for the year. 1 is Michael Sanchez. 1 is Marvell Waithe. 1 is Ricky Scott.
You have a 6'4" QB playing in the post, out rebounding and out hustling your scholly senior big man.
You take those players away, and what do you have? You have Nobles, 4 freshmen, and Haydar, a walk on.
I mean seriously, what true quality players did MA have to put with the talented class that came in? Yet we won 18 games, and beat a few damn good teams at home.
You can't form a reasonable opinion on MA from this year when you look at our roster with an open mind.

Thank you. You nailed it. You're right Hawgeye, I have no facts other than I've seen more home cooking in the SEC over the last 20 years than I ever thought was possible. And I just THOUGHT the SWC had crooked refs. If you have not picked up on he fact that we foul, like A LOT, and it isn't for lack of effort, but because the home team almost ALWAYS gets the calls in the league, then you haven't been watching. Our stellar home record vs. our crappy road record is nothing new. Heck Nolan struggled on the road in the league, and guess what kind of system he ran?

Great, and in that same breath, Nolan won a National title, played for another, went to 3 Final Fours.
Guess what system he ran?
Anderson has been a head coach for 10 years now. He's been in the post season 7 times. Got to an Elite 8, 2 Sweet Sixteens. Won 30+ games, won 20+ games 7 times. Won a conference championship, won a conference tourney title.

And facts are over-rated.

Facts are not overrated, its why they're called facts.
Opinions are overrated, but yours is flat out terrible and have no substantial foundation from which you base your opinion.

All true. Albeit, one of those FF's came when we were in the SWC. But Nolan's greatest successes in the SEC came in his first 4 years in the league. The league adapted, Nolan didn't. The refs slowed us down. Nolan started to lose. The system that took us to the greatest heights was also responsible for holding us back and changing with the game,
Posted on 3/8/12 at 9:49 pm to cityhog
The league didn't adapt.
Nolan got lazy, stopped recruiting. He recruited men for his title run, then he went back to recruiting boys.
