Cue the: "but it isn't illegal, strictly speaking;" "rubbing your balls on a passed-out 18 y.o. is a college frathouse/Army barracks funtimes prank;" "Harvey isn't representative of our fanbase, but oh hey, Harv, can I get a pic of you with the wife?" comments.

I'm betting Auburn and other schools will be seeing lawsuits from students in other sports that aren't offered multi year scholarships now.
I don't think it's going to last very long. Chiz is fricked, I just can't imagine how he's going to build and manage a football team filled with people that know they are guaranteed 4 years on the team regardless of how they perform

I have ZERO problem with the way things were handled yesterday. Saban was hired to coach Bama football and act in it's best interests in conducting it. If he had the opportunity to get better players at the expense of letting lesser players delay enrollment, then more power to him. His job is not to weaken the program because it might hurt someones feelings. It's to have a winning program and develop players and students, once they are ON campus.
Ah yes, the ol' win at all costs argument. Frick kids over and over again, no problem. Why? Because we win! No sane person can possibly have ZERO problem with the way Lil Nicky screwed those two kids over this year. Again, no SANE person can actually believe winning is more important than the kid's lives.

grey shirts aren't guaranteed scholarships. The schools aren't obligated to give grey shirts scholarships because the NCAA doesn't even recognize grey shirting.

jP Wilson was a grey shirt. I would say he was pretty productive.

Re guaranteed scholarships: why should athletes be different from academic? If you get an academic scholly you have to perform or you loose the scholly

I think the debate is who sets the level of attainment to be achieved and what is that level. What if a kid being processed is better than an incoming. They are just allowing an incoming to take anothers' spot because he might have better potential but he also might not and be processed as well.

So, I'm arguin on dawgrant and I get handed the "moral" argument of Saban's oversigning, the same guy then goes on with this.

Gump my son is only 9 but no way in hell I would allow my son to play for an unethical scumbag like Nick Saban. Period. No discussion at all.

I see. Instead, you intend to raise him to judge people and publicly persecute them based on message board fodder.
quote:
Pastor of Disastor:
No factual evidence of Saban "processing" kids. He would have stood by his word to Philon had Tomlinson and Kirven not committed. He culled his commitment list when he had better options despite the kid being committed for several months without visiting anywhere else. Pieces of shite like you are the reason I laugh everytime tornadoes rip Tuscaloosa apart. Its Karma.

Why should I give a frick about you or your inbred family? You act like its survival of the fittest. you act like the kids deserve to get fricked over by Saban. You don't have morals or ethics selectively. You are cool with kids getting fricked over. I am cool with inbreds dying in tragedies. Its all good. GFY gump I'm out. be careful today bad weather moving through inbredville later today.

If they don't maintain their grades, they lose the scholarship. If you're wanting to compare the two, that would be like giving an academic scholarship and saying if the student doesn't stay at the very top of his/her class, he or she would lose it. All they have to do to keep the academic scholarship is maintain a certain GPA and stay out of trouble. All the athlete has to do is maintain a certain GPA and stay out of trouble.
