Saban culls his roster, if you do not work out , he cuts you. That is why he has the biggest advantage in College Football. If you oversign 5 players per year and cut to make room for them, that reduces your odds of making a poor evaluations by 20% per class. Teams like Ole Miss oversign due to grades, Alabama oversigns to increase the selection pool.
What is happening is that over a 5 year period, Saban is signing an extra class. This would not work unless players get processed.

And over the last 5 years AU has signed more kids than Bama.

Yet AU has signed MORE than UA in the same 5 yr period.

Saban has oversigned 9-12 each of the last three years. That is about a 40% margin for error.
And yes, it is the single biggest competive advantage in college football for bama right now and a huge part of their success the last 3 years.

And you said Auburn did because of grades. Sounds like you think Au = Ole Miss.
