Will Cade Foster get processed?

Re-watching the game. The 44 yarder Shelley hit at the end of the 3rd would have been good from 48-50. Seems like his range is increasing.
With the new kicker coming in next year, is there room for Foster as a Kickoff specialist who sucks at kickoffs?

Medical Grey Shirt - Processed

He is still the kick-off man. You don't want Shelley kicking off. Now, Jay Williams may leave. He's been at Alabama for two years, and still hasn't beat out a walk-on at punter.

I don't think Foster or Jay williams is even on scholarship now. If not, no need to process.

But Foster counts against the 85, because he's playing. Jay Williams has never stepped on the field, and doubtful that he does. Cody Mandell has done a decent enough job at punter.

He needs to lift more weights if he ever wants to be a successful kicker IMO.

You sure about that, Eddie?

If the new kid can reach the end zone on kick offs, let Shelly be the PK and get Foster out.

Scholarships are for one year. If you come off you are not counted against the 85. You can lose your scholarship based on your performance. Can't imagine that Jay Williams is on scholarship when he has never seen the field. Would be surprised if Foster on scholarship, given that he has been beaten out by Shelley.

If Griffith can just get the ball to the goalline consistently, Foster will no longer serve a purpose for us. That is so sad.

Maybe Foster can make the kick-off coverage team, probably has as many tackles as anyone.

It seems we need a symposium on scholarships and the 85 rule in this thread.

He tackles pretty well on kickoffs and he was a LB in high school. Keep on special teams, just not as the kicker. However, I would not be surprised if he is processed.

Indeed we do. Since when does a walk-on count as a scholarship?

Does the scout team have a kicker?

It needs to be stickied at the top of the recruiting board. Along with how back counting works.

He's gotta work on getting more height at the line on his long kicks.

new guy has kicked 55 yd fg in hs. kicks on ground. most kicks go thru end zone. wouldn't be surprised if he starts as freshman. U-Tube is your friend.

It pisses me off every time he almost falls down on his kicks.

I do like that he has saved a handful of TD returns with his tackling.
Of course if he kicked it in the end zone more maybe he would need to save TDs.
He better hope Saban is hungry.
