What I saw was the team that blocked it recovered it right outside their own endzone and they ended up going backwards for a safety, so the team that missed the extra point got a 1 point safety and it was just as if they made the kick.
It would be pretty incredible for the team that gave up the touchdown to get the one point safety.
eta: I'm pretty sure it was the game in the post above me. I'm almost positive I remember A&M playing.
