And some of you still revere Kiffin.. Kiffins one year is the reason Dooley has it so rough.

What else would he say? "This is an absolute dog shite hire and they should have fired him as soon as he started talking at the press conference."?

Coach Majors has too much class to start running Dooley down. Besides, the guy has had some of the shittiest luck this year with key players going out.

It's disheartening because I want to pull for him. I like him and I have a lot of respect for his family.

haven't paid attention to UT recruiting since the Kiffin days so I have limited knowledge on how things are going in that aspect.

well, a lot of kiffins guys are off the team and the ncaa dealing with ut has not helped dooley's recruiting efforts at all. the guy has pretty much had the deck stacked against him from day 1. if i were the adm, i would recognize this and give him more time; the fans may not allow that however. if he gets canned, i expect him to recover and end up somewhere else.

Dooley will get his shot in 2012, if we win 9 games or more then he should be alright.

like Dooley and I think with a few more years he will get Tenn turned around. The problem is Kiffin fricked the program up so bad, no coach in America would have been able to right the ship in two years. It sucks for him, but he's just going to be the rebound guy in the Tennessee program, and the next coach in 2013 will get all the credit.

Exactly, Kiffen set that program back 5 years.

When Tennessee hired Kiffin they set themselves back 8-10 years. The sec is full of so many recruiting monsters it's difficult to rebuild a program. They are gonna need a stronger recruiter than Dooley to get it done.

Kiffen was an excellent coach. He had that program going in the right direction. I know there were recruiting violations, but they turned out to be relatively minor.

They would have been a legitimate SEC Title contender if he had stayed the course this season.

If true, it's kinda sad, because I don't think there's a lot of coaches who could/would have handled matters much better than Dooley, considering the circumstances.

Yeah and his playing by the rules works against him as well.

His mom really isn't helping his case. That situation seems to be getting more and more wierd. FWIW though, I think the guy really can coach. It may have been just too big a mess for one guy to clean up.

Things were so bad here after Fulmer and then the Kiffin Experiment tanked. Our program was nuked. It's comparable to where Bama was back in 03 or 04, and we didn't have any NCAA sanctions.

I like Dooley a lot and want him to succeed, and I think this season could have been very different if our playmakers had stayed healthy. But they didn't, and this is where Tennessee is. We have the absolute worst luck I think I've ever seen.

Tennesssee 2011 = Alabama 2004

It will take time, but I feel they are on the right track. Dooley does remind me a lot of Shula .

you know who vol fans remind me of?

that stupid whore who just got out of a "bad relationship" with some dude that beat the shite out of her all the time and then cheated on her, then she goes out and gets a good man who "will treat her right" and he goes about doing all the "right" things, and the entire time she's complaining in the back of her mind "I wish he were more like my ex", she doesn't "feel it", 6 months later he makes some half arse apology, she fricks his brains out, runs back to him, and 2 months later, is wondering why she has a fricking dent in her forehead.

That's your avg Vol fan right there. They turned a blind eye to a bunch of shite that went down in the late 90's. When the proverable well went dry they cut fulmer lose. They bring in Kiffin to make things right, he fricks theprogram up like there is no tomorrow, a depleated team. The only quasi good thing he did was land tyler bray. He left you to the point where you weren't even 1 deep on the Defensive line.

And not 2 fricking years later, it's all your head coaches fault

let me tell you something you stupid arse backward fricks. We are in year 4 of the bobby petrino era. And we STILL, are dealing with shite that houston nutt left behind. Do you not realize that the reason our o line is so fricking pathetic is that because houston nutt recruited all of 3 offensive lineman for the 06 and 07 classes COMBINED, and frick one of them was a tight end who we made a offensive lineman. Those are kids that are supposed to be seniors now. Not even including 08 which for the most part was his class as well he recruited 1 o lineman, 1. the entire frickign class, 1. and he's now at ole miss and can't crack the rotation (matt hall).

if you had any fricking common sense at all you would shut the frick up and let the coach build depth. this isn't basketball you can't fix a team in one year unless you get lucky as hell and land an Alabama 08 type class.

I'm telling you if you run that man off and don't give him time to fix the shite that was built, you thought Dooley was a stretch, you haven't seen anything yet.

I'm not saying he can coach or can't coach. I'm saying that it's going to take 3-4 years before you honestly know because your program was that fricked, just like ours was.

Ut cannot compete without a great head coach unless the rest of the sec is down. It is pretty he is as bad or possibly worse than richt. These are good times that clay dude and dooley are the face of the vol nation.
