Jesus Christ. Listen dumbass. Is this a thread about moving the CG or is this a thread about Conference Expansion? Seems to me it's about Conference Expansion. If that is the case, let me tell you that they are currently locked into Atlanta so by the time they were able to move the game, the big bad Texas schools that are so important to the SEC will already be in another conference. And it will not be the SEC.

I'm all for rotating the venue; I don't give a shite where they play it. However, if you think they are going to move the game to impress some schools, then you are an idiot.

The two cannot be logically separated; the conference as it is, and the conference as it will be are two very different things.

Texas A&M isn't going to be going anywhere else. They've pretty well cut off their other options, at least in the short and intermediate terms.

As usual, the point flies waaaay over your head.

This is about eyeballs and television sets first and foremost, not about schools. This is about the growth of the product, not maintaining a 'venerable' 20 year old tradition with less traction than the McRib.

For the purpose of this futile argument, I have been counting them as a member of the SEC.

No, I get your point. I'm telling you it is wrong.

Exactly. I get that. What I am trying to tell you is that Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma will not be in the SEC. They won't come; the SEC doesn't want them. Argue the point all you want, it is true. So then my question is why move the conference game all the way to Texas just for aTm viewers?

You quite obviously don't get it, if you think this about Texas, Tech, or Oklahoma. It has nothing to do with luring them, enticing them, or otherwise co-opting them into the SEC. Nothing. Zero. Nada.

The idea is to make new fans of the product and create new viewers, and to put the SEC in front of the best possible market for future growth. It's about putting together the most attractive possible package for television contracts.

These things are all better served by an SEC CG in Jerry World than they are with one solely Atlanta based.

I get that and agree to a extint. I'm arguing that no one over there will care, save aTm fans. We will agree to disagree.

#1 The Georgia Dome- It's done a solid job so far.
#2 The Superdome - It's good enough for national championships, it should be up to hosting a more important event like the SEC CG
#3 JerryWorld- Like it or not, it is a one of a kind venue for big games.

I 100% agree that Jerry World and Atlanta should rotate the game after A&M is fully onboard.

Absolutely no effing way should it be held at the Super Dome.

I would like Jax to host every 5th year or so.

The weather is nice here and I wish you were beautiful.

I personally would prefer the Super Dome and Adelphia not be included, but I can see the arguments for them as rotating venues.

Jacksonville is a great place to watch a college football game. I think the biggest hurdle it'd have to clear would be the poor performance of ACC title games from 2005-2007; I'm not saying that it couldn't do it, and do so easily, but that it would serve as a hurdle to consideration.

I'd take the Superdome with the new rennovations over the Ga Dome. The Ga Dome is not near as nice as people on this board are implying.

Furthermore, N.O. and the Superdome is worlds better than Atlanta and the GaDome in terms of destination.

The biggest problem I have with the GaDome is how much farther most of the West Teams have to travel to get there. That's bullshite, especially considering the power has swung to the west.

Think of how fricked up it would be for the participating teams and their fanbases. There would be a possibility of BOTH teams playing BACK in the Superdome only a few weeks later.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't that happen to South Carolina last year in Atlanta? Lost the SEC CG then lost a Peach Bowl?

Seriously, because NO fan could possibly have fun going back to Nola to watch his team play for a National Title or BCS game win.

So let me get this straight... You think there are a lot of fans in the state of Texas that aren't fans of any school in Texas but would like college football enough to watch the SEC Championship? Keep dreaming Arky fan.
