I do not know where they get the data or how old it is. Auburn released this week that the average ACT score for incoming Freshman was 27.2 and a GPA of over 3.70. I do not know how you can have a 80% acceptance rate with those numbers.

This changes periodically. Alabama has been raising the standards in the past two years due to hitting the population goal 4 years earlier than Dr Whitt set. This is not indicative of anything other than each university trying to attract students or not exceed the ability to house, teach, etc.

Because most students with those numbers aren't striving to attend Auburn University. Lower number of overall applicants = higher percentage of acceptance in this case.

That is pretty good.

This years freshman class at the UofA had a 26 ACT average and 3.6 GPA average. Something like 41 National Merit Scholars.
