uh oh,signed bama memorabilia starting to vanish from the web.

Barners found a jersey signed by T Richardson on a montgomery memorabilia site that was uploaded a few hrs after he signed the jersey. Remarkably it vanished within 30 mins of it being posted on AU boards

Only in your mind. No one can help it if you don't understand the difference. Just because you don't see or grasp something doesn't make it invalid. It just makes you half-witted.

Apparently YOU can't see any difference. Yet, it is staring you right in the face.

You have a whole fricking forum dedicated to "Auburn Scandals".

This is ironic that this jersey was signed 9-3-2010 the same day Richardson was signing jerseys for his "friend" tom.

The C& D letter was sent in December of 2010 regarding him using merchandise of current athletes but if you look in the background of this picture dated 1-26-2011 you can see jerseys of McCarron and Nico still displayed in the window. So seems like either Tom did not obey the letter or perhaps there is more to the story

You can still offer a bulk discount and allow the sales to be individual. I promise if the student senate said they needed hundreds of suits but each student would be purchasing at different times, then they would get a discount. It isn't a reading comprehension issue, I actually understand how business works.

Yes, if you had a business, you could arrange to sell discounted items to the members of the SGA, the glee club, or even members of the "Spectrum," provided that none of these members were student-athletes, and NOT offer said discount to the remaining general student population.
quote:

16.01.1 Eligibility Effect of Violation A student-athlete shall not receive any extra benefit. Receipt by a student-athlete of an award, benefit or expense allowance not authorized by NCAA legislation renders the student-athlete ineligible for athletics competition in the sport for which the improper award, benefit or expense was received. If the student-athlete receives an extra benefit not authorized by NCAA legislation, the individual is ineligible in all sports.

However, if you are offering student-athletes a discount that is NOT available to the general student population, this does become a compliance issue.

We aren't talking about the student senate. This issue involves student athletes, who under bylaw cannot receive any benefit which is not also made readily available to other students, therefore, this does appear to be a reading comprehension issue on your end.

Your right he was using the autographs to generate more business for his store. This is no different than bars or restaurants having different specials or themes nights etc.. as business promotions. Regardless of what comes of this you can say Tom has done a great job of promoting his business. For all we know he sent the stuff to Clay Travis to promote his business.

Maybe, but the more likely scenario that would have happened if this had caused a problem for Alabama or one of the players is that he would have to close his doors, because no one except the odd Auburn fan living in Tuscaloosa would ever buy a suit in that store again.
