I'm not sending them shite. The guy was a total douchebag for doing it, but AU has enough money to plant some new trees without my help.

As a taxpayer, I'm already paying...for the trees and this assbag's trial and imprisonment.

On behalf of Auburn University I would like to thank you for the donations. With all the money we got from merchandise rights and the MNC we can take this $3,000 dollars and blow it on long snappers.

According to the police report, the damage will cost about $2,500.

Not a police report, and that number is listed because it is the amount prescribed by the statute.

"Tide for Toomers" has raised over $3,000 from Tide fans...and the barns still hate you. They hated you before the trees and they hate you still. Nothing really has changed except you guys are $3k lighter in the pocket.

Maybe not the police report, but that number came directly from Auburn: "$2,500 in cost to repair vandalism".

§ 13A-7-21. Criminal mischief in the first degree

(a) A person commits the crime of criminal mischief in the first degree if, with intent to damage property, and having no right to do so or any reasonable ground to believe that he or she has such a right, he or she inflicts damages to property:

(1) In an amount exceeding two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500); or

(2) By means of an explosion.

(b) Criminal mischief in the first degree is a Class C felony.

They stated that amount so it would be 1st degree.

They just stated that number because thats all that matter. They could say 1 mil but it is the same. probably they should have said it a little better than just $2500, They were probably reading >$2500 and didnt think to say in excess of.

Cough, cough, treez

I'm actually kind of shocked that they omitted the "in excess of" from the PC. AU has been very well served by their counsel...I thought for sure the script would read just like the statute.

I disagree

Some Alabama fans expressing dismay and contributing to Toomer's corner would be a very good start on behaving like grown ups

Helluva lot more impressive than a 62 year old guy poisoning the trees for sure
