so because you lost to bama in week 7 and subsequently lost 2 more sec games after the fact, and also won 2 more, you call that "almost"? wow, ok, to each his own i guess. i have never seen a team say almost when you're 3 games behind the team that won the division, especially considering that game put ole miss at 1-3 in the conference. ole miss was never even in the west race in 2008. in 2009, you lost your first sec game to south carolina, so you were already fighting an uphill battle, then in week 5, you lost to bama. yeah, ok, you were in the sec west race for 5 of the 12 weeks of the season. fact is, ole miss hasn't even sniffed a west crown other than 2003, and only flawed logic would say otherwise.

I'm honestly having a hard time imagining a situation where Kentucky is in the SEC title game. It could happen, but I can't see it happening soon.

Despite the SC loss, Atlanta was still obtainable. After Alabama was lost, so was Atlanta and we knew it. Motivation, perhaps the most powerful element in life, was diminished.

And for "flawed logic," one must embrace the fact that a human/team spirit isn't always you or I may consider logical.

exactly, but a situation where both Bama and Auburn are on probation and LSU and Arkansas beat the shite out of each other and both lose to OM is at least feasible. Not likely, but feasible, especially the part about both AUB and Bama being on probation.

I think the answer to this is Ole Miss. When Ole Miss has one of those good years they have proven they can hit the top of their division.

Even with Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia all sucking at the same time, they all still beat UK by double digits. I just can't see it getting much easier. UK has a long ways to go. Miss does, too, but at least they've been close. What selling point does UK have in football recruiting at any point? "Come help us end the streak against the Vols. 30th time's a charm."

Pretty easy choice considering UK hasn't had even a 9 win season since 1984.

I mean, if one actually tries to envision this as a possible reality , their brain should flash "FULL TILT!"

Exactly, I mean OM's chances are slim what with Alabama,LSU, Auburn,Ark, and even MSU all having been to the CCG but UK's chances are virtually nonexistent.

uk. the east is still up in the air and they might actually break through once.

They've lost 23 straight to Tennessee and 19 straight to Florida.

It seems like they'd have to beat one of these teams to make it to Atlanta.

Ole Miss, though in a tougher division has a much better talent base.

I don't think that's updated.

they haven't beaten Florida since 1986, they haven't beaten Tenn since 1984.
