If you live north of Red Level, make sure you have access to a generator, & Dish Network or DirecTV. That'll do ya.

On a positive note, it's not likely you'll have to go out for a bag of ice for the cooler.

Last year when Bama had their MNC game, there was a winter storm approaching and me and my AU buddies were hoping for power outages so Bammers couldn't watch the game.

I guess Karma is a bitch

Yes it is. I'll gladly go without power for 12 hours or so if it means half the states Auburn fans can't watch the game. I'll wrap myself up in a few blankets and chuckle softly to myself the whole time, trusting on the heat from my Auburn hate to keep me warm.

Typical Alabama exaggeration. You can thank James Spann for the state of panic the Birmingham area is in now. Looks like we MIGHT get a an inch and a half...if that. BIG STORM!

North Birmingham might get 2 to 4 inches. Once again. BIG STORM.

I'm so sick of this shite

Dude go educate yourself. If we just get snow, it's no problem. I'm talking about ICE. 1/4 of an inch of ice can absolutely cripple a city.

Ice builds up on trees and power lines causing major power outages.

I'd rather have 10 inches of pure snow than a 1/2 inch of ice.

This. The threat of snow isn't a problem whatsoever. Ice on the other hand...I'm fully expecting to lose power if we do have an ice storm, as they are predicting right now. Thats gonna suck arse since I live in an all electric home.

I realize ice is a big deal. I just the amount of ice that most of the state will get is being grossly exaggerated. LIKE IT ALWAYS IS. Oh well, at least it gives kids a chance to go play in the mud and James Spann a chance to show of his cool new suspenders.

Unless things have changed drastically since I lived down on the plains, there's nowhere you can't walk if you want to and I don't think they're going to get much snow or ice.

Students can probably walk to them, but not the employees who have to be there for the party. I'm sure that's why they were cancelled.

Seems it is only supposed to ice in the early am on Monday with temperatures climbing to the high 30s low 40s by midday. They are projecting that temperatures do not dip below freezing for the rest of the night.

Some jerky knees down in Auburn.
