Major Ice storm coming to central Alabama including Auburn. Im in Bham and I'm sure there will be power outages here too

Last year when Bama had their MNC game, there was a winter storm approaching and me and my AU buddies were hoping for power outages so Bammers couldn't watch the game.

I guess Karma is a bitch

I suggest getting in an accident and spending Monday night in a hospital. The power won't go out.

Typical Alabama exaggeration. You can thank James Spann for the state of panic the Birmingham area is in now. Looks like we MIGHT get a an inch and a half...if that. BIG STORM!

North Birmingham might get 2 to 4 inches. Once again. BIG STORM.

I'm so sick of this shite.

Meh. We're in Alabama. If it snows a half cm everything shuts down, people suddenly forget how to drive, and the grocery store probably sold out of bread two days before

Is Dothan going to be hit hard? I'll go anywhere that power and cable actually work.

You guys laugh, but when it DOES happen, it's a bitch. I can remember spending nearly two weeks without electricity when I was a kid and we couldn't get to a store for over a week.

If it's just snow, it's not a huge deal, but if there's ice as they're saying we may get, it's a BITCH.

We did get a Winter Storm in 93 that was the only time I've ever seen it LIGHTNING and THUNDER while it was snowing. Even then, we were only shut down in Birmingham for 3-4 days. I was 12 years old and it was a blast. Of course, not having tv or cable for a few days sucked, but we just went outside and...did something. I'm pretty sure every bit of accumulation will be off the road by Monday afternoon if not sooner.

I'm just sick of every time this state gets a little snow it's like the world is coming to an end. People should be much more concerned about Flash Flooding. Alabama really does have a problem with that.

Now THAT was a storm. How the hell would I survive these days without internet, satellits, and a phone charger? Thought it was the coolest thing in the world then.

Well, they tried to push that whole heat stroke thing one summer, but everyone was like,"What are we Yankees?" So they gave up.

I'm just surprised Auburn decided to shut down all viewing parties. Unless things have changed drastically since I lived down on the plains, there's nowhere you can't walk if you want to and I don't think they're going to get much snow or ice.
