I'd say that any logical deductive reasoning would lead one to think that you and who you choose to surround yourself with might not be the sharpest tools in the shed. Most CFB fans know who Auburn is and where they're from.

Great, if we didn't have Bama fans thinking they were the best team every season then it would really take a lot of the fun out of being an Auburn fan. I don't think you'll ever understand it but Roll Tide Roll right.

okay buddy, whatever you have to tell yourself...

Just a quick FYI...I went to auburn for a year and have a lot of friends who are auburn grads.

So your assertion that my friends may not be sharp tools is probably true.

Wow...I'm just going to let your retort stand on its own merit as to why your previous assertion is misguided.

Most people outside of the SEC who aren't avid fb fans don't know where Auburn is, i would agree with that.

Doesn't mean that they won't watch it though, everyone will want to see Cam Newton, and Auburn prolly has as many former players in the NFL as better known programs.

I think so too. The SECCG ratings are not a great barometer in determining the projected ratings of the BCSCG. The SECCG game was a blowout by middle of the 3rd quarter. Cam on and off the field has brought plenty of attention to Auburn and the country will watch barring an early blowout.

I think the game is extremely interesting, definitely. Maybe less so than last year's because TX and Bama were arguably more dominant than either of the teams in it this year. Plus they both came from major markets and are two of the five biggest CFB programs, whereas AU and Oregon aren't on that level of long-term national prominence.

Relatively speaking I would agree with that. I just found it humorous that the OP honestly believes that the majority of those interested in watching a BCSCG game wouldn't know where Auburn was located. Come on OP, you've got to admit you may have pushed the flame up a little too much with that remark.

This flame is not your best work. Your childish obsession with all things auburn has lead you to some pretty good flaming. But you've let me down with this one. But keep it up. You'll continue to get bites from me as I do look forward to your all auburn all the time post

2 high powered offenses means more viewers. It will be a close game. Why do all the Bama fans think Auburn will kill them when the Auburn fans think it will be close?

Uh, so they can make fun of Auburn if they lose.. discredit Oregon -- and if Auburn loses it was a choke-job, etc.

Don't know how the ratings will be, just know that everyone that doesn't tune in will miss one damn good college football game. This game will rival the 05' USC-Texas game. I still wish last year Bradford had stayed healthy so we coulda got a Bama-OU matchup....

Nationally speaking; when was the last time the BCSCG matchup...
...was this uninteresting?

Tweet from Paul Finebaum today:

quote:

Most viewed college football games of 2010 season: 1)AU/Bama 12.5M; 2)SEC CG AU/SC 10M; 3)Boise/VTech 9.8M; 4)Big 12 CG Neb/OU 8.9M

So the 2 most watched games this season featured Cam Newton and Auburn. 3rd most watched was Boise's season opener against Va. Tech.

But as to the BCS National Title Game, here's what Oregon and Auburn are up against:

quote:

Alabama's win over Texas on Thursday drew a 17.2 final rating and 30.8 million viewers on ABC, up 9% in ratings and 15% in viewership from Florida/Oklahoma on FOX last year (15.8, 26.8 mil), and up 19% and 33%, respectively, from LSU/Ohio St. in '08 (14.4, 23.1 mil).

But if the regular season is any indication, Cam Newton is a huge star attraction and viewers will flood in like bugs to a light bulb. Especially with Oregon's high powered offense and the novelty of a top 5 Pac 10 vs. SEC showdown.

pretty sure everyone in the media says this is one of the most anticipated BCSCGs since it started

Wow, really? Like they say every single year since it started? You do know the media is ratings driven right? Their fervent prayer is for enough viewers generating enough ad revenue to merit the money they shell out for broadcast rights.

don't get too upset that the ratings to this matchup will be akin to the SECCG... probably down 40-50% from last year's match up in the same game.

SECCG was the 2nd most watched game this year.

Alabama drew strong ratings until they lost to USCe.

Top 9 most watched football games this year.
