I don't think it's nationally unappealing for CFB fans, but most feel that Auburn is too good for Oregon. I would much rather have seen Cal somehow win that game so Wisky maybe could have slipped in. That would have been a great one.

Auburn will always be the 2nd school in Alabama, Like TA&M

Perhaps but Alabama has more of a national following than Auburn. That's a fact. Notre Dame hasn't been relevant for almost two decades but a ton of people still tune in to watch their games.

i don't know why I keep biting on FTBFLNs fishing expeditions

he has just turned into the new BufordPuser with his attempts at flaming AU at all cost

Yeah exactly. At times, Auburn has been as good or better than Bama for the last 30 years, but that doesn't change the fact that Bama' still kills Auburn in prestige.

I get it.

In your opinion, Auburn draws no national interest but Bama does.

In your opinion as an unbiased Bama homer, that is.

Most Auburn fans will concede that we are the percieved as the 2nd school in AL with other AU fans. I enjoy that position and wouldn't want it any other way. I love being the underdog.

Great, if we didn't have Bama fans thinking they were the best team every season then it would really take a lot of the fun out of being an Auburn fan. I don't think you'll ever understand it but Roll Tide Roll right.

This thread is a fail. This is probably the most intriguing championship in a few years.

'07-LSU vs. Ohio State. Ohio State was one of the most mediocre one-loss AQ teams I've ever seen. LSU had two losses. The game was on Fox. Nobody cared.

I agree, most people who weren't fans of those two teams couldn't care less.

The casual college football fan in the midwest or northeast has zero interest in this game.

At least there's usually a nationally prominent team involved.

Is auburn nationally prominent?
Considering most people outside of the sec still don't know what state it's in...no.

Is oregon nationally prominent?
laughable

Most people at least have heard of Cam Newton. And Oregon, well the uniforms

People know about auburn and oregon more for their hi-jinx than for their football prowess.

You're a bama fan, your team has none.

Wow! Do you get any cred on this board at all? You've basically just stated that the entire country are a bunch of morons.

To pacify your own unfounded ego, consider that the Iron Bowl is a nationally 'prominent' game nearly every year and the two teams that play in it are known to be within the same state.

Not morons.

A lot of people outside the southeast don't know where auburn is.

While fishing with a friend from Indiana last week, I was asked this very question.

I LOL'd.
