you left out

"And then Coach Petrino, he's really instilled a lot in me. He understood with hard work you can achieve anything. He's a phenomenal coach and a phenomenal man. A lot of people outside don't really understand that, but just being a player, a part of his system, he's really built me as a man. He's built character in each one of our teammates. He's just a great coach."

whatever, DJ came/ comes from a broken home. Houston was the closest thing he had to a father figure which is why he wanted to go to Ole Miss with Nutt. I can not really remember what changed his mind but he stuck with Petrino and definitely is better for it. However, Petrino took the hawgs to a BCS bowl which Nutt could not and will never do while he is in the SEC.

We have to deal with character differences but the results on the field is obvious. The LSU game was never really in doubt in Nutt coached games we would have won by 3 or lost by the same amount.

DJ Williams was very close to Nutt. DJ briefly thought about transferring to Ole Miss. It's a good thing he didn't as the TE is also known as "3rd tackle" in Nutt's offense and he couldn't have put up those stats. DJ didn't like Petrino much when he got to UA because Petrino cursed and was very demanding on the players. Petrino is very tough but he's the reason DJ will be drafted and he knows that.

I saw Petrino light DJ up after he came to the sideline after a touchdown reception earlier this year, I think against South Carolina. He said something about "cutting the route short" and if you watch the tape, that's just what he did. Should've been an easy TD but he allowed the LB to close and it could've been picked if it were someone other than Mallett throwing it. That's the kind of guy Petrino is, he'll criticize you even when you score, but he'll make you better.
