The coaching staff that he has assembled and his ability to keep everyone focused through all of the distractions make me think that he should get it.
I can imagine that conversation now.
Chiz "Gus, how'd you like to leave that powerhouse, Tulsa, and come back to the SEC?"
Gus "Well, I don't know... We're on our way to a nat'l title at Tulsa... But sure, what the heck."

I can understand where everyone will say that Malzahn is the reason for our success, but the thing is, our wins have for the most part been extremely close. The reason that our players are so resilliant is because Coach Chizik is a great motivator and gets his team to act as a unit.

Les for the genius that won him the Tennessee game.

I'd have to go with Gene over Dan by just a wee bit.

Spurrier IMO. Anyone that can get South Carolina to the SEC Championship Game would deserve it. I don't care how shitty the East was this year, it's still an amazing accomplishment

another thread. Ill post what I just posted in a different thread.
Mullen is NOT coach of the year. Here is why:
MSU won because of a favorable schedule. They didnt beat anyone good. They won 1 division game and did not one single team currently ranked in the top 25.
The teams that MSU BEAT had a combined record of 38-52. MSU is much better than last year, but it is somewhat smoke and mirrors. Florida (7-5) is the only team MSU beat that had a winning record.
But the teams they have last to have a combined record of 41-7 and when the teams play somebody besides each other they have only lost once.

how is this not a runaway for Chizik?

A favorable schedule would have been getting Kentucky, Vandy, and Tennessee from the East. We beat Georgia and Florida. Mullen turned a program who has been known for having a lousy offense and transformed us into winners in just two years.

Gotta be Chizik, since Malzahn is ineligible. Auburn's staff has really made some great adjustments during the season - against Carolina, Bama, et al. His team has overachieved, and won all of their close games. That says a lot about his ability to motivate his players.

True, there is 180,000 points between #1 and #2 here.
