Who has said he asked Auburn?
If the spotlight wasn't on your school, would you throw your school under the bus?

Why would his dad ask for money from MSU and then go to Auburn for free?

It's an opportunity to play at the school you really like. So yes it is a question.

With the whole Camgate going on and what not I have one question for you. Since it has been said many times that Cam's dad made the choice for him to go to AU. Also Cam's dad has been quoted for asking money from MSU. Why would his dad ask for money from MSU and then go to Auburn for free? You can say all that bs stuff about close to home and all that crap. Guess what Florida isn't close to home and neither is Blinn Junior College. So why all of a sudden would being close to home matter at all?

Auburn is no better than Starkville. Both are shitty towns.

First, we don't know if Cecil solicited or was offered the $$ at MSU, but in the end no money actually changed hands (at least with regards to MSU). We don't know any details, but either:

1. Cecil got cold feet
2. Boosters wouldn't/couldn't pay
3. MSU AD stepped in to make sure it didn't happen

In all three of those scenarios, a logical end result could be Cecil realized that messing around with $$ in recruiting was a bad idea and this shite wasn't something to play around with. He knew he had messed up Cam's opportunity to play at MSU because of it. So he chose the second option - AU.

To sum up I think he tried/considered something at MSU, realized that that shite didn't fly like he thought it could or would and decided he better not mess around with it. My .02

I have no problem with listening to explanations from Auburn fans. Because what was said was very logical. However since Cecil asked for money for him to play wouldn't that change his status to amateur to pro?

What is the definition of an agent? Is it a representative who solicits money on your behalf? If so, Cecil Newton is an agent, and Cam Newton has had improper contact with an agent.

and what the hell do you expect them to say? maybe they should voluntarily say that they were outbid? "our cheap arse boosters would only pony up $150k so he went to auburn"

The asking for money would only make him ineligible at Miss State.

With everybody involved and I mean everybody, saying "NO money" was even exchanged then Cam should be able to play wherever he wanted too.

Cam doesn't pay Auburn does . But I think that is bs because he asked for money which means that he was looking to pay for play. How this is not in the NCAA by laws I will never know.

Thats the same question I asked. If no money was ever exchanged with AU why didn't he go to the school he wanted to?

If he was wanting to go to Miss State ,his dad asking for money from Miss State would make him ineligible to go there!! Thats why.
