Grad students (alma mater is another school), scholarships to one school, but grew up cheering for another. Plenty of reasons. I don't see it as a real problem. I graduated with a guy at Alabama that was a huge Notre Dame fan growing up. I knew a grad student that got his bachelors at Tennessee.

I wouldn't call it a trend, but at the same time if you get a scholarship, or the field you want to go into is better at one one school than another, etc It's pretty common. I almost went to the barn cause they offered me a scholarship, and I'm a huge Bama fan, and would have remained one while there.

You must have seen that same guy walking around campus with a florida t-shirt on yesterday. I saw him around PFT at about 3. Something about it just makes you want to beat his arse right there on the sidewalk

There was a good number of Gump fans at Mississippi State when I was in School there, but then again the Alabama state line is only about 45 miles away from Starkville.

Not a SEC school, but Southern Mississippi has a ton of LSU fans due to their student body being largely composed by MS gulf coast and southeast Louisiana area/NOLA students.

I am from Baton Rouge and cheer for LSU but am in my 4th year at Ole Miss.

Reason is because I am from Baton Rouge and wanted to leave. LSU would've been 13th grade. Ole Miss was a logical choice. Not too far, but not too close (5 hour drive). Girls aren't too bad either.

ETA: I am very flamboyant in my LSU fandom as well. Ask OMLandshark or EasyJTeasy(roommate). I go back home for the football games.

I went to Ole Miss. I am an Ole Miss fan. But when UGA isnt playing Ole Miss. I pull for UGA. But I do not wear the gear, and when Ole Miss did play UGA I pulled for Ole Miss.

A couple of my buddies went to Ole Miss but still cheered for LSU gear and all

I grew up an Ole Miss fan but decided to take a full academic scholarship to Alabama. I became a full-blown Tide fan the minute I set foot on campus. I don't know how people can go to one school and cheer for another.

Now I will say I had to go to Ole Miss for a summer and a semester or two and I loudly cheered for Alabama. But I was not Ole Miss by choice and had already spent years in Tuscaloosa.
