Are there direct flights to jackson...hell, is there an airport there?

Actually a very clean and easy accessible one.

When the Saints played the Colts in Jackson 3 years ago it was an epic preparation failure.

They had like one working gate for the whole stadium.

I think we have too many bowls now as it is. Back in the day playing in a bowl was a privilage because it meant you had a good year. Now-a-days a 7 win team barely scratching .500 can make a bowl.

Memorial Stadium is pretty bad but the Independence Bowl in Shreveport isnt much better.

True. But when you're not at the game you can gamble, so that's a plus I guess?

With the efforts to clean up downtown seemingly working (Hotel King Edward just reopened after being dormant for 40 years!), Jackson could use a new stadium to host something.

I don't see how Jackson couldn't build a downtown stadium for the Braves. Also I hear the coliseum is a bit outdated and they can't even sell beer there due to a stupid state law.

I'm all for having a Bowl Game in JAX on the basis of it bringing in some $$$ to our state.

I agree that it would be good for the economy. I also agree that it would be the shittiest bowl in America.

We have terrible leadership at City Hall. It makes my blood boil that Jackson did not try get the baseball stadium downtown.

I thought the state was going to tare down that stadium and build something smaller for JSU?
There was talk of demolishing the stadium and giving the property to UMC for a big research facility and building JSU a smaller stadium on campus. Trivia - do you know what is under the Vet-Mem Stadium?

Well if they can still play the Liberty Bowl in Orange Mound they can play a bowl in Jackson.
