I may be crazy, but when the heck did Ole Miss and LSU become such BITTER RIVALS?? WTF? I guess it was b/c they lost a chance to go to the SEC CC game back in 2003??? Or b/c they actually beat LSU last year???? OR is it the "MAGNOLIA BOWL" trophy that Ole Miss insisted to LSU that they play for?

GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!

NEWS FLASH OLE MISS,

MISSISSIPPI STATE is your RIVAL, and Coach Dan Mullen has our team showing improvement EVERY WEEK, and we have november 28 Circled on our callendars.

Hmmm. Are you relatively young?

The LSU-Ole Miss rivalry dates back to the 1950's and 1960's, when both teams frequently had top ten teams. At certain points during that epoch, the LSU-Ole Miss contest played a pivotal role in the national championship and Heisman races.

Apparently LSU is the only team that is not worried about having a "hated" rival. We have conference rivals, and our natural rival, Tulane, is about to shut down its football program. I don't care if any team considers us their top hated rival. I know that the SEC West teams have to play us every year, and throw Florida in that mix until the SEC stops kissing Alabama's butt and creates the true rotating schedule.

When both teams were good back in the late 50s early 60s, there was a rivalry. Now, not so much. Although majority of Ole Miss fans hate LSU with a passion. Can't say the feeling's mutual.

LSU/Ole Miss is like OU/Texas
Miss St./Ole Miss is like Tx A+M/Texas
(if that makes sense)

how about before you and I were born. The older people are the ones that still really hate the other school. It's an old rivalry thats almost died among younger fans but you let us get competitive again for several years and it will be back full force

of course you do. You also have Egg Bowl Celebration pictures in your locker rooms and a countdown clock by the weight room.

Our countdown clock ends when we play the next opponent. Then it resets.

And sorry, but that's just the way it is. LSU/OM is more of a rivalry. And a rivalry doesn't = hatred either. You have us circled on your schedule, but we have LSU circled on our schedule.

You don't know shite about the history of the SEC and LSU-OM. They were the most bitter rivals for many decades going back to the 40's , 50's, 60's, 70's when they were both good. In the 50's and 60's they were usually top 2,3,4 team in the SEC behind Bama and TN.

Most likely in the 20 or so years that we pretty much beat you every year when our tradition was at it's apex.

We were bitter rivals back way before my time, but It's been pretty one sided as of late.

50 years ago Ole Miss and LSU were much bigger rivals than Ole Miss and Miss State. When he thinks they are good or if they beat LSU then Ole Miss fan remembers that - otherwise they'll focus on Miss State as their rival (since they have more success against them)
