Going 12-0 regular season is irrelevant when you can't win your conference championship game followed by getting your doors blown off by a mid major team in the Sugar

Closeness only counts in horsehoes and atom bombs. It doesn't matter that they fell "just short". What matters is that they had UF on the ropes in the SECCG before letting Tebow go all Superman on their asses. They followed that up with a colossal choke job against a good, but not great, Utah team that had their own coach blaming the fans for the loss. It was a fitting end to the season after listening to them proclaim their own greatness for 12 weeks to anybody who would listen.
