Team Batting - BB/K
Texas A&M .794
Georgia .786
Arkansas .744
State .734
Ole Miss .729
Kentucky .686
Auburn .680
Carolina .672
Tennessee .635
LSU .603
Bama .589
Vandy .496
Florida .467
Mizzou .403

BB/K is a batting ratio that shows the ratio of walks for each strikeout.

A higher number is considered better, as it means that the batter can recognize pitches in and outside of the strike zone, as well as more likely to get on base.

It is the inverse of the hitting ratio strike to walk ratio (K/BB).
Which brings us to this stat.

Team Pitching - K/BB
Arkansas 3.54
Texas A&M 3.50
Tennessee 3.23
Vandy 3.14
State 2.81
LSU 2.73
Carolina 2.49
Kentucky 2.39
Bama 2.31
Florida 2.30
Georgia 2.25
Auburn 2.23
Mizzou 2.20
Ole Miss 2.17

I think these are interesting stats because you can take a team like Arkansas, who doesn't have great power numbers and show that they can get the most out of their offense by the way they control the plate both in the box and on the mound.

Pretty much tells the story of Georgia this year: extremely good at the plate, very mid on the mound

State's improvement this season should be noted. They had the highest ERA in SEC history last year. Solid at the plate and on the mound this year.

If we can steal this last one at Vanderbilt, we go into the last two series with an outside chance at hosting.

Looks like it says that state is better than their record.
Also looks like kentucky won't do much post season.

I agree with the State comment, but Kentucky is really good when they put the ball in play. Top 5 in batting avg, slugging, and on base pct. And they are top 3 in batting avg against, hence they make up for their so so plate coverage.

well Gentlemen and our few resident Ladies - Mark Kingston baseball has just provided SEC baseball with something never seen on the diamond -

Ethan Petry 3-run bomb reduced to a 2-run single and out on bases as our CF decided he needed to 'tag up' on a towering fly to LCF that cleared the fence - and ran back behind Petry rounding 1B -

Mark Kingston Gamecock Baseball folks - it needs to end -

eta - this CF was also picked off 1B twice - in his first 4 times reaching base after being put into the lineup just under 2 weeks ago -
