I don't know maybe it'd be bad maybe not, uga fans haven't been nearly as awful as I imagined they'd be after the 1980 drought to 2021. It was a while between 80 and 21 but they acted like they remembered being there

I was afraid something would happen and they'd take it away from us.

did this happen before or after they got left out of the playoff?

It takes pride and integrity in yourself and your program to compete. Norvell threw a tantrum on national TV and quit on his team. The boys just followed their coach. It's Norvell's job to coach his team each and every time they put on that uniform. Kirby didn't make the playoff and frankly, he was bitterly disappointed about not getting the chance to 3-peat.

Kirby still had his guys motivated and ready to go and destroyed that pretender residing in Tallahassee. Getting beat by 60 points in the Orange Bowl is a firing offense in Tuscaloosa.

Bama caused Georgia to go from 3-peat talk to talking sh** about beating a toothless FSU team

Alabama went from winning national championships to merely bragging about playing the spoiler role.

Now Bama fans = Auburn fans

Pretty sure the barn isn't 5-1 vs Kirby.

A little humility dude.

The difference in culture is stark and definitive. FSU pooched their lips out and quit. UGA, disappointed in losing by a FG in the SEC CG, did what champions do and picked themselves up off the mat and annihilated the quitters. You can't blame the players, it is a systemic thing in Tallahassee. For many, many years the FSU nation was satisfied with Bobby Bowden's "better to be a live coward than a dead hero" ideology and it permeates the program to this day. FSU has a long and storied history of making child like decisions...from joining the ACC instead of the SEC to quitting in the Orange Bowl...it is an embarrassment. They likely wind up in the SEC soon and will be an embarrassment to the SEC as well.

They have a shot at redemption. They could do what UGA did in the 2020 Sugar Bowl after pooching their lips out and quitting in the 2019 Sugar Bowl in the same manner. They probably won't get a chance with an extended playoff.

FSU was decimated at QB. They would’ve been shellacked in the playoff

Alabama shite the bed anyway in their gifted playoff appearance.
The game went into over-time dumb arse against the eventual national champion.

I won't go as far as to say Bama didn't deserve the NC that year but it is important to note that Notre Dame and Michigan State tied each other that year in the most hyped up college football game ever.

Gump, you do realize that was the SEC Championship ring, not a runner up right, right?

BAMA was going for a 3-peat in NCs. They went undefeated. They went to the Orange Bowl and destroyed Nebraska. Notre Dame and Michigan played for the tie, and both finished ahead of BAMA in the beauty contest. Neither ND or MSU went to a bowl.

That was a hammer job anyway you care to look at it.
