He may not start a game this season but he’s too important to lose. Also, I hope there’s a package for Ty in every game at the very least.

Alabama could afford to lose Shaft Williams.

It’s pretty evident he’s prolly never going to the NFL. He needs to come back home and play his dad at UTM for a couple years. His younger brother Grahm is also pretty good. Already holds offers from Oregon, Michigan, UGA, and Tennessee.

That’s not evident at all. I think he’ll have a career in the NFL.

Its Deboer's first year. He is trying to transition leadership as PC as possible. I'm sure he saw last years Milroe's films and knows he has QBs that pass better with higher ceilings on the roster. But Deboer trying to make it look 'fair' as possible to get ready for the backlash of criticism from the Milore fans when Simpson starts this fall. Milroe is practicing hard and trying to be the social butterfly by acting like its his job, but its not going to work. Deboer knows he has better options. Just hope he doesn't let the team pressure his decision like Saban did. This team has unlimited potential if they get the right QB.

Let's not overreact. As bad as some of us claim that Milroe is, we did come within a hair of the National Championship game last year and also beat the "unbeatable" Bulldogs of Georgia. That was without an offensive guru (Lane or Sarkisian type). Deboer is just that....so let's just........relax

I see with Saban gone Bama fans have now fully embraced the backup QB like the rest of us mediocres have done for years.

I must’ve been watching another guy on the team named Ty Simpson last year when he played
I would have no problem if that guy transferred out of my program.
Did Lonergan regress that much? He was the hot name last summer and rumored to possibly start after the South Florida debacle

You guys kill me with this ridiculous take. So basically what you're saying is these coaches who went through criticism and making hard decisions for their whole career is now all of a sudden gonna go against everything that got them to this point of their career just to play a guy who isn't qualified because fans of a specific player will get mad at them lol. That's literally the most asinine thing I've heard in a long time. You think these guys give af what a fanbase thinks when their job and livelihood is on the line

quote:Public perception is critically important to a first year coach transitioning Saban and replacing a QB that went to the playoffs. Yes, this has to be handled very well. There is many things to consider. Team support, split fanbase support, recruiting, race issues, media view of it, etc. What makes it worse is Milroe is a likeable guy, he just isn't the best QB.

What was it Coach Stallings once said? "If I start listening to the fans about how to do my job, I'll be sitting with them on Saturday's."

Ehh, I get where you're coming from and that was honestly the best response I've heard pertaining to this topic yet, however I'm gonna go back to what I said when a guys livelihood and reputation is on the line you think he is gonna listen to people who isn't involved with the team or have knowledge of what is going on in practice. No coach can afford to take a risk like that especially at a high profile job.

If they're winning there's not a damn thing you and I can do to get them fired. If it's not a scandal or them breaking rules nobody in the higher ups will give a damn what anyone in the fanbase thinks.
