Love the hire for the following
1. Will recruit lights out, bring talent like we have never had before.
2. Brings PR and Attention to us unlike we have had in years.
3. Solidifies the large donor crowd, brings excitement.
4. Will have some success.
Question the hire for the following.
1. Mental gymnastics of KY and AR honestly. He isn't as bad as KY wants us to believe, and not as great as we want to presume. If he changes a bit in his development/recruiting with the portal... Great.
2. His age and if he still have the fire in him needed.
3. I hated him for so long, I am conflicted.

Cal got Walmart back to the NIL table apparently.
That's worth the money alone.

I’m on board. Even if we don’t have huge tournament success (which I still think we can) it raises our profile as a program and shows we’re serious about winning and will throw a bunch of money at it with the right coach.
We’ll be set up well for the next hire and it will bring stability when it seemed like we might lose our momentum we had gained with Muss.

lol, he did the same thing with all of the surrounding programs. Ole Miss, State, pre Bruce Pearl UT etc.

Never was a big fan of Calipari.
Felt like he was arrogant, and had a holier than thou personality.
As much as I disliked him he always seemed to get the best players year after year. In turn, he won a lot of games.
I agree with Kentucky fans that he has under performed, post season wise, the last few years. What can be attributed to that, I don't know.
I'm excited at the entertainment he's going to bring to the basketball program. I know we will get top rated players. Transfers, and freshman.
Could we have gotten a better replacement? Doubtful. And it would be stupid, on our part, to not take this chance. We've gone the mid major route, and it's never panned out.
I think overall he's a pretty good coach, and hopefully will be determined to win another championship here at the U of A.
I will reserve my real feelings about him after we have a season in the books.
All I'm worried about now is getting the best possible line up for immediate success.

It will be a great hire. CAL wil have a new Fire under his arse and he's proven to be a winner.
Arkansas fans in BB are 2nd only to Lexington...they know what they are getting and combined with Arkansas money for NIL in BB..
I'd be stoked. LSU has a dork librarian as a coach....I'd take Cal in a heart beat at LSU.

I’ve never been a cal fan, to put it nicely, but I’ve grown apathetic about him over the years. I wasn’t a fan of the one and done players either but with muss doing it here the last few years I guess I’m accustomed to it now. Those were my negatives about him.
When beard turned us down I was resigned to the fact we were going to suck balls in a huge way for the foreseeable future especially since a coach would be starting with no scholarship players and a small nil to work with.
Whether I like it or not this is a home run for the program and great exposure for the school overall. With his potential to recruit and reload the roster with quality players we should be competitive immediately.
I’d have to be a selfish idiot, which I’m subject to be, to not be happy about this.
I’m also glad to see the money boosters pony up big time for a change, that’s a step in the right direction and hopefully it’ll carry over to football.
The pros outweigh the cons, I’m in.
Go Hogs!

Why didn't Walmart support Musselman? He seemed extremely popular in Fayetteville.

I'm in:
1. Thought Cal was the devil from afar... now he's our dude so let's roll.
2. Shows we are serious about winning and developing a brand.
3. Immediately will change the talent level and caliber of athletes that will consider our program.
I know he probably only has 5 years or so in him but I'll take a motivated Cal looking to prove everyone wrong for 5.

Yeah, I'd rather not, but then I wouldn't know when the game starts.

I’m standing here looking at the ramp to get on board but I just can’t quite take the step yet. I’ll get there, it’s just freaking bizarro land weird to have to ehhh I guess embrace Cal as the coach is what I mean to say.

I know how you feel, I’ve never cared for the dude and don’t plan to embrace his greasy arse self. But he’s lighting a fire under the folks with money so I can hold my nose take it…..haha.

still do not normally see them act like Tennessee fans and throw blind support to every coach that comes down the pike.
“Blind support”? We can not like the hire, and still support the Vols and cheer them on and hope for the best. I can remember there wasn’t a lot of support for Dooley, Kiffin, or Butch. And you seen what kind of support Schiano received. I think you are a little off base here.
And we all supported Vitello because he was young and exciting, even though he didn’t have HC experience. That worked out just fine.

Hiring who was behind Cal with an empty roster and a much more limited NIL had disaster written all over it.
