Arkansas fan roll call, who is on board with the Cal hire and who is not?

As knowledgeable as Arkansas fans are and as loyal as they are, I still do not normally see them act like Tennessee fans and throw blind support to every coach that comes down the pike. So speak up now or forever hold your peace.

Who thinks this is a home run hire?

Who thinks this is a swing and miss hire?

Who is in between and taking the "wait and see" approach?

Home run, with or without huge success on the court.

No one has a crystal ball, but anyone grading this hire less than a “A” needs to turn off their device.

If you understand the financial/NIL side of this hire, it's impossible to not support it

It feels weird and doubt we win a natty but it’s a pretty big deal after our coach bolted to USC.

I’m on board. Even if we don’t have huge tournament success (which I still think we can) it raises our profile as a program and shows we’re serious about winning and will throw a bunch of money at it with the right coach.

We’ll be set up well for the next hire and it will bring stability when it seemed like we might lose our momentum we had gained with Muss.

I gotcha. I mean there isn't a bigger name in the college ranks, and he has brought in talent that even previous coaches at Kentucky had never done, so you can't say it was just the UK name.

I am on board. I like the hire. He is a better coach than what was previously with the program.

Admittedly, it is weird.

The Arkansas rivalry with Calipari dates back to 1994 when he was the HC at UMass. He then ended the Arkansas/Memphis State annual meeting because he believed it may it too difficult to recruit his Memphis players with Arkansas standing in the way.

This hire has seemingly gotten the Walton's, Tyson's, Hunt's and others to begin throwing money at our NIL program. So the net positive from this hire is off the charts, just for that reason alone.

I always hated him for this and his comments afterward.

Looking back, it was more of a show of respect than anything

I went to bed Saturday night with Chris Jans reverberating in my head.

I'm all in with Cal. Hopefully this move will be good for him and for us.

It's a weird fit to me and I've always thought of him as a pompous arse when he was HC here in Memphis. Whatever. WPS

He will do well there with players. Success in March will have to see. He needs to change his overall philosophy, and he didn't want to do that here.

Homerun.
I'd bet on at least 1 final 4. And considering it's been 30 yrs. That's a homerun.
We ain't gonna be leaving the sec tourney and done for the yr. Guranteed

A little iffy at first

The other fans melt makes it worth it win or lose

Ky traded a legend for Scott who has not done much better than ky the last couple years. Puts this over the top

I always thought Cal was a dick. Still do. But to be fair, most fans think the opposing teams coach is a dick, so I'm good with it. I think he may be on the downhill slide, but he should have some good years left in him.

Kind of hope we play USC in the next few years, now. Muss will have to look over at our coach, knowing he is now playing in front of high school crowds and making much less money than if he had stayed.

Right, a coach can be a dick, but if he is your dick you love him.
