All 3 have college rankings using different criteria, which put more weight or less weight on different factors.
One of those has more stroke than all of the rest combined. The other rankings are ignored by the schools, but if a school gets an unfavorable ranking in US News, they freak out:

Do I think Admissions offices care a lot more about it, and try to work their numbers to fit US News formula? Yes, they all play the numbers game.
That, along with WSJ and Money magazine rankings provides a bigger picture though.
