I suppose a good bit of what I mention will naturally reflect in the score most times but what are the football guys looking at? The playcalling at key moments or the technique of the players regardless of if they’re getting burned or not.

Or are you just watching to see which team wins frick analytics

Repetition is the mother of retention. Muscle memory for the unwashed.

The last spring game I went to, I took away some leftover BBQ. No one has ever called me "the smart person" though.

I look for:

Long arms from DB's with good form
explosive runs by RBs
separation by WRs
accuracy and decision making by QBs

HM:
ghetto thugness by any player gets me on their band wagon

For offense - Can the OL block

For defense - Tackling and coverage ability

Sunburn and a fun day for the kids.

Oh, and [insert school color] kool-aid. Lots and lots of Kool aid. Hell aggy drinks so much of the stuff they even count the spring game on their win totals for the year!

Yes. I see a Natty every year I sit through the spring game. Hope springs eternal.
