Amidst all the reshuffling, these nerds voluntarily left the cash cow that is the SEC over 50 years ago.

In fairness, can you predict what's going to happen in 50 years?

And yet not a word about Sewanee or Tulane.

Was the SEC a cash cow in 1964?

It's appropriate that the named the stadium after Bobby Dodd, because his decision to leave the SEC ended up sinking them, like an anchor around their neck.

Bobby Dodd couldn't stand the idea of other schools abusing the "140 rule" by overrecruiting, then cutting players (in violation of the NCAA rules).

Bobby Dodd has been dead for over 35 years and coached his last football game over 65 years ago...he still has a more recent Football National Championship than aTm.

When I think of this rivalry, I recall the picture on the front page of the AJC sports section profiling the UGA lineman who was a grad student in Math. UGA was so proud of him, and how bright he was, and that he didn’t have to go to Tech to study something technical

He was pictured standing in front of a chalkboard with the quadratic equation in the background. He had written the equation wrong.

Nice to be invited to be on the team...then be cut.

and yet Georgia continues to play them annually as a cop-out "P5 OOC matchup"

Georgia Tech will be in Washington State's position before too long.

I guess Notre Dame, Clemson, Oregon, and North Carolina don't count.

Now, now, now... Let's give former Texas A&M Aggie/Bama player Darwin Holt the assist he deserves for Dodd's action.

Very good point and take note for future reference when dealing with the inbred mutts. They love to claim that "it's not a rivalry" blah blah blah yet here we are on a random Thursday in March and some retard is posting a "Let's laugh at Tech" thread regarding an event that took place a half century ago.

“ And yet not a word about Sewanee or Tulane.”

To be fair, Sewanee is a tiny school in the middle of nowhere and probably should never have been in the SEC in the first place.
If you’ve never been to Sewanee, it’s incredibly beautiful. All Saints chapel is amazing, just stunning! They also have some of the coolest traditions. My daughter and some other family went there and we hope to retire there some day.
