I think the SEC and the B1G will each go to 20 teams. The SEC could have 2 divisions, the original Ten and then the new arrivals.

I could get behind that idea. Newbies division and the OG division.

Combined is fine. Divisions often matched the best against the fourth best teams. Combined is much more likely to be the top two teams.

I love shitting on Auburn, but Auburn had a hell of a schedule year in and year out.

Also, back when there were 2x crossover permanents, Auburn had Florida during Spurrier's prime in addition to UGA.

As a fan I liked the two divisions, but I’m conservative by nature. I also love rivalries. I think this new format will be better for players’ experience

I agree, but my big concern is watching talented players on losing SEC teams getting poached by winning SEC programs, which I don't think is good for the conference overall.

I guess that's already happening, but since we no longer have divisions and are moving to one conference maybe the SEC could implement some kind of 6-game waiting period before transfer players are eligible to play in a real game. I know that won't stop teams from stealing your players, but maybe it will at least slow down all this jumping from team to another

I know that will never happen, but allowing conference teams to raid another conference team's roster only makes the strong teams even stronger, and pretty much assures that the struggling teams will most likely stay stuck at the bottom.

I kind of like having the two divisions as it gives you familiar opponents every year. However, not playing all the West teams more frequently does suck. I know that's a non answer but I guess it really is an either or for me. I'll miss the divisions but look forward to getting to play the other half of the conference more often.

And it was good.

I prefer two divisions. Should have kept it way it was and just moved Utx or OU to the East and put the other one in the West. Or moved both to the East and moved an East team like Missouri to the West if Utx and OU whined about staying together.

Divisions all the way, makes the season much more interesting and compelling. I never understood why people want all teams in a single division, those people are either soccer fans or yankee gays.

I think what we are seeing here though is the end of the SEC. Shanky has been a terrible leader and is to focused on world domination rather than the integrity of the league. It won’t be long before there is a single league of all but the biggest teams disconnected from their schools. This is just going to become another professional football league like the XFL.

I find myself caring less and less especially when they expect the fans to fund everything

Agreed. You all got shafted on the schedule nearly every year.

I like no divisions with a 9 game conference schedule with 3 permanent opponents.

It allows teams to play every SEC opponent twice in a 4 year window (while playing the permanent ones every year). It preserves rivalries while making the conference a single unit rather than two divisions that rarely play each other.

The division set up made it so teams rarely played the teams from the other division. UGA and A&M have only played once since A&M joined the SEC. It doesn't really feel like they're in the same conference.

Call me older school. I long for the 10 team SEC and no SEC championship game with a 4 or 5 loss team taking part. You could suck all season and make it all go away with one game.
Again, OU/UGA vs the NCAA ruling in 1984 started the mess we have today.

No divisions is better. This way a team won't have an advantage due to a weak division. Before Georgia became elite, the SEC East was a joke (still kind of is except for UGA but is better overall). You had mediocre Missouri and Florida teams winning the east division. No reason the 3rd or 4th best team in the conference should be playing for the SEC title just because their division is weak. This should make it more likely the two best teams in the conference are playing for the title.
