I’ve lived in the delta my whole life. I know of one black farm owner and can count on one hand the number of black farm managers I’ve met.
None of them attended Alcorn.
I’d say the money was better spent going to MSU

From the article. The author only goes back to 1973. The law he quotes said if a 2nd land grant university was created to keep the races separate the funds must be distributed equally. I’d argue since the CRA and end of segregation that it no longer applies since the Universities are no longer kept separate by race by law

Remember the James Meredith story about attending the University of Mississippi.
Pank - Your Tishomingo County HS Education is blatently showing here.
quote:
Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy had a series of phone calls with Mississippi Governor Ross Barnett between September 27 to October 1.[15][16][17] Barnett reluctantly agreed to let Meredith enroll in Ole Miss, but secretly bargained with Kennedy on a plan which would allow him to save face.
Ross Barnett committed to maintain civil order. Robert Kennedy ordered 127 U.S. Marshals as well as 316 deputized U.S. Border Patrol and 97 Federal Bureau of Prisons officers to accompany Meredith during his arrival and registration.[18] On September 29, President Kennedy issued a proclamation commanding all persons engaged in the obstruction of the laws and the orders of the courts to "cease and desist therefrom and to disperse and retire peaceably forthwith", citing his authority under 10 U.S.C. § 332, § 333, and § 334 to use the militia or the armed forces to suppress any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy.[19][20][13]

Texas has more black farmers than any other state, but they
make up only 3 percent of the state’s total farmers. Black
farmers make up a larger share of total farmers in Mississippi (12%), Louisiana (7%), South Carolina (7%), Alabama (6%)
Looks like there are a number of Black farmers you haven't met. Given that there are 34,700 total farmers in Mississippi... Looks like about 4150 of them are Black.

Tell me you don't know nothing about the Mississippi delta by telling me you don't know nothing about the Mississippi delta.... the paw-paws of those 4,150 black farmers said "frick no" and scratched their arse out of there.
