ss State fan throwing shade to Bama about football?
He was simply pointing out the obvious. You gumps are just really confused and sensitive right now. Reality will hit you hard enough soon. In the meantime, the questions surrounding the health of your football program aren't always "throwing shade."

Kinda like LSU since 2019?

His last four seasons at Notre Dame were all less than 3 losses, he had 4 and 3 at LSU the last two seasons but also was taking over a team that was .500 for two seasons.
Kelly had 23 seasons (out of 32) with 3+ losses. Deboer had 2 out of 8, and those 2 were at Fresno STate in a covid year, then a 9-3 second season.
Again, to me the similarity is Urban Meyer when he went to UF.
Meyer went 8-3 and 9-3 at Bowling Green, which to me is similar to what Deboer did at Fresno State.
Then he went 10-2 and 12-0 at Utah, which is similar to what Deboer did at Washington.
I was one of those arguing that there wasn't enough to look at with Meyer and that he'd flop at UF. I was obviously wrong about that. The argument with Deboer seems very similar, but to be honest unless you're hiring Nick Saban or Kirby Smart, a resume like Deboer's is about as good as you can hope for with a new coach as it leans toward excellence as opposed to having a lot of evidence for being good but not elite.
There are some very good coaches in college football and Kelly is one of them. Mark Richt was one of them too. Tommy Tubberville was in that category too. Barry Alvarez. James Franklin. Mike Gundy. Frank Beamer. All very good coaches. None of them elite.
Deboer's resume suggests the possibility of eliteness, just like Meyer's did. Doesn't mean it's a given. He could flop. But hiring a guy like him is obviously a program striving for an elite coach rather than just accepting a proven "very good" coach.

Am I missing something here?
Yes. Coach DeBoer is the OC.
And unlike Brian Kelly who once upon a time coached DBs and was a Defensive Coordinator, but could do nothing about the collapse of the LSU defense these last 2 years, Coach DeBoer is the man with the plan.

We just promoted Co-OCs from within too dumb arse.
Way different situations:
1. Promoting within the same program. Our OC has SEC experience.
It's not way different on the offensive side. It's virtually identical. Kelly has an offense he wants to run. He promoted Sloan to call the plays because Sloan is familiar with the offense. Sloan's resume as an OC and a play caller is marginal, at best. Exact same situation at Bama. You can argue that Sloan has two years of "SEC experience" as a QB coach, but he has not called plays in the SEC. I wish people would think before they post instead of trying to troll Bama for doing the exact same thing we are. These types of moves happen all the time in the NFL by the way.

I’m sure it will go really well.
Now, how do the bammers spin this?

Only SEC experience he had when he was hired was getting his shite pushed in by Bama. And that hasn't changed since he was hired it seems.

Early Cuyler you’ve been unemployed for too many years now with no female in your life. Your parents want you out the house. Your porn addiction and addiction to men named Stephen would possibly go away if you could find a job LOLOLOL

By the way, how's your new OC working out? I mean how many games has he won for the Cajuns so far? You might want to save your wake time for the purple and gold.
He developed a Heisman winning QB and is 1-0, anything else?

Losing your OC and you still haven't stopped the bleeding on defense. Nothing to worry about here.
Season hasn't started, so no way to tell anything about the defense. We did however clean house on that side of the ball and brought in a lot better coaches/recruiters, so time will tell. By all accounts it has been addressed.

Perhaps, it was a personality fit.
From watching how DeBoer cleaned house with most of the analysts being given walking papers, I would call it more of a "trust" hire.
DeBoer filled the OC position with a guy he knows will do what he wants done while being able to fire the guy if he needs an excuse for a rough season.
I wouldn't call it a great hire, but I wouldn't call it a total washout at this point either.
