Are you talking about stepping in the seal and you won’t graduate in 4 years? It’s just a fun tradition. Take it easy. Nobody takes it seriously.

And baptizing yourself in a fountain at the president's house to remove the curse.
Oh, and having your class ring cursed and having to get it baptized in a ceremony at precisely some predesignated minute to remove that curse?
Surely you see how that seems cultish?
