Yeah, then he went crazy or started getting high too often... something. The later Les Miles looked more like Houston Nutt. Hmmm... similar careers, honestly.

But, it does make you think, doesn’t it?

Deboer will still have Saban’s players. Every win he has will be because of Saban. Every loss because of him.

Those are the rules.

I've always thought it was ridiculous when someone said Miles "won with Saban's players". I mean, he could have lost with them.

Tell us more about how the transfer portal and NIL hurts Bama more than other schools

Never said it did hurt Bama more than other schools. I simply saying you can’t compare coaches from two different eras of college football. It’s not that hard to understand

That’s just ignorance. My point is spot on. I don’t know if this wil be a great hire or he falls flat in his face but to act like continuity in 2005 college football is the same as continuity in 2024 college football is disingenuous on your part but about the level of stupidity that I would expect.

Did Les deal with the transfer portal and NIL when he took the job?

No, and Bama wouldn’t either had Saban not fricked y’all over with the timing.

Maybe so but I don’t know when would be a good time for this with the changes before us. Had Bama waited another month or after spring you’re late getting a Coach and staff and DeBoer or whoever you sign is probably already signing an extension with a larger buyout. I don’t know the perfect time to quit or retire but I’m just saying the players that left after announcement could have left in the spring window without this 30 day window being added to it.

People act like LSU with two losses got in over a slew of 1 loss or undefeated teams.

Everyone had two losses, save OSU, who LSU played and beat for the natty.

If there were a playoff that year, LSU would’ve been in the top 4, OSU, OU and Va Tech being the other three.

Is Miles coaching anywhere currently? Not being a smart arse, I truly want to know.

He should be. He was a pretty damn good coach.

OP’s question is totally fair considering the way this board talked about Les in those years.

Yeah.. But this board is still overwhelming LSU...so who was doing the talking about Les

Opposing fans

Funny how this is an LSU board when it suits and the narrative but not when it doesn’t

You’re projecting again

You of all posters are one of the absolute poster children for showing your arse when Bama has the upper hand but is now crying foul when their bullshite is being thrown back at them.

Enjoy irrelevance

He should have gone undefeated in 2006. I could have coached that team to a natty. It was absolutely loaded. I'll never forgive him for that one.

Actually he would have in the expanded CFP, LSU was 11-2 SEC Champions and in next years 12 team playoff, LSU is a top 4 seed being 11-2 SEC Champ. That team once healthy again would have rolled everyone in 2007 in the CFP.

Les miles squandered more talent in his 1st 2 years at
LSU than any coach ever has .Sure he won 10-11 games but
if you watched his games especially on Offense it was coaching malfeasance. The guy was a hardheaded AH.
