How could we possibly upgrade it enough to be competitive with a Texas?
Seems like an impossibility.
Don't know that we need to. There was an article (atlantic?) That interviewed all star game players and published their answees anonymously...most didn't take the highest NIL but the school b that theyv wanted to go to ...had a sufficient NIL number. ( Exceptions of course) so Bama needs to be good NIL and keep a culture of winning and developing I also think you have to build running winning cultures, you cant buy it. You can buy a ... Championship, and then there is still no guarantee but even then it's not sustaining.
ETA: After reading this....I think I need glasses. Can't rely on autocorrect !

Bill Battle screwed it up before he retired going a lot less
Battle really, really screwed us with that deal. Could’ve technically funded a new basketball arena with the money we left on the table.

Alabama should have their own network too on ESPN
i agree our nike deal wasn’t good but this is absurd imo.

One thing I do know…if NIL continues like this, most coaches won’t last over 10 years. They’ll get burned out from the stress and aggravation of having to deal with all of this.

For sure and make significant upgrades to facilities in other sports.
Put the basketball arena on the river then tear down Coleman and expand out Mal Moore to house the other sports coaches and other auxiliary uses

Texas has one called the Longhorn Network. Why not Alabama?

The best place to build it near the river has already been taken by a USGS building being constructed at the back of the Bryce campus. They have another spot close to the 82 about a half mile before the bridge also on the Bryce campus. That is allegedly the actual site for the new arena if it is built.

NIL are 3 letters that may ultimately separate me and watching college sports.
Players up and jumping from team to team to chase a dollar will totally ruin it for everyone.
This is turning into MLB with large market teams seemingly always having the upper hand.

Did they just stop spending? If so, why?
It's hard to get your boosters to put up NIL money without seeing a return. They got burned by that class. I bet that caused them to tighten the pocket books.

2 things.
1. I see specific numbers thrown out around players from many different programs. Never about us.
2. Why are we not leading the way in NIL shite?

Bill Battle was a clown. His response on why he didn’t shop other apparel brands? “I just figured that was the best we could get.” Genius businessman.

I wouldn’t give a penny to an NIL collective if I were the richest man on Earth.
The adults are to blame for “ruining” college football. You don’t blame a kid for being a spoiled brat. You blame the bad parents who spoiled him.
Fans have given these players so much leverage because no one will say no to them because winning is too important.

The NIL situation is basically the same at all the big schools but Aggy and Horns really can outspend people when they want to do it.
It really needs to be reined in because as it stands right now either of those schools can poach your best players from year to year by simply throwing $$$$ at them.

Needs to stop this nonsense. It’s like watching bad semi pro football as it is.

From what I have inferred from interviews, we got away with paying less than other programs because of the advantages to create value for yourself under Saban was so much higher.
Yes. Posters thumbs down but it’s true.

My family member didn’t go where the highest NIL deal was offered. People on the outside didn’t agree with his decision, but his parents are very supportive. I definitely think there’s something to that article.
