Watching the B ball game and they showed DeBoer talking to the crowd. After it showed it the announcer said earlier in his speech to the crowd he promised some surprises in recruiting coming soon! Please be the UW cb and Ryan Williams

So we can have 2 more on field assistants. Do we go the 2 secondary coach route and 1 LB, or vice versa?

Who would be an option for ILB or OLB?

You would think if Bala was going to retained it would have been announced already

Bala already has interest from other programs. I wouldn't expect him to be here longer than a year if he does. Maybe better if you can grab someone who will be with you for a little while.

The great news is that if we have teams trying to poach our coaches next year, that means we had another fantastic year and probably went deep in the playoffs. Here's to hoping CKD has to beat them away with a stick.

My guess is they may go QB coach and LB coach if Rees is retained. If not they will go DE coach and LB coach. I'm guessing Linguist gets special teams coordinator for increased pay.

Roach and Rees are candidates for the USA job.

Hope Roach sticks. Rees needs a landing spot. We are paying him too much for him to do nothing, but i feel like his offensive philosophy would not mesh, so we don't need him here either. USA is a good spot.

let it be rees. Last thing we need is the DL bolting

Also, I liked this from Wommack about getting the bama job

I’d rather the guy who played quarterback and showed development with our QB’s be retained. Were already stuck paying him and he’s had double the experience in just a QB coach role as Grubb

Nothing against Grubb, but he didn’t have to coach Penix. Penix was already developed

Lot of "I" in his interview. His interview sounded like teenage kids

Rees OK but don't want to let Roach go. Hope DeBoer makes a good effort to keep Roach.

Penix in 2021
87/162, 939yds, 4 TDs, 7 INTs

Yes very well developed. Practically elite.
Care to see his stats after Grubb got in him 2022?

he never had more than like 1600 yards passing before getting to Washington, don't know why people want to act like he was some sure fire prodigy prior to 2022

I love when you guys cherry pick a year

Penix 2018-2019
62% completion, 3000 yards, 24 TD’s 8 ints, 8+ YPA

He was coming off an ACL tear and a shoulder injury in 2020. Penix’ issue was never his play, his issue was injuries.

quote:

The Florida native Penix suffered significant injuries in each of his four seasons at Indiana — season-ending ACL injuries in 2018 (against Penn State) and 2020 and shoulder injuries that cut his 2019 and 2021 campaigns short.

that's 3 years worth of stats. Break them out and it's very average

I seriously doubt USA would hire Rees. Applewhite is probably the top contender.
