DeBoer is 3-0 against Oregon coach Dan Lanning,
2-0 against Texas coach Steve Sarkisian
2-0 against USC coach Lincoln Riley.
He's no Hugh Freeze, though.

It seems he beat a pretty good Texas team last month?

No doubt a great two years. Stellar job getting Washington to the final game.
Glad someone finally focused on the only relevant experience he has. It's just not a big sample size but results are there.

He did indeed, but it took Penix having the game of his life in order to get that W. If he played like he did vs Michigan, we might be holding the trophy right now. Granted, the Michigan D put pressure on him and we did not, but he still threw into some pretty tight windows.. the whole fricking game. I can't think of 1 bad throw he made. I counted about 10 or more against Michigan. He was fricking terrible that game.
On that topic, does anyone know his PFF grade vs Texas? vs Michigan?

Agreed. He has been impressive at Washington in his 2 years. Seems like a short period of experience to bet on but doesn't mean it won't work.

It's a perfect hire for Bama.
- He has been successful EVERYWHERE with lesser talent overall.
- He has been successful with lesser talent on the field at the time of the games.
- He is way cheaper than any of the other Head coaches they thought of.
- Chances are, regardless of his success, he will be considered a failure by Bama fans because the expectations won't change.
- He will serve as a reality check and reset expectations.

Only on the rant would dorks try to find a way to troll about hiring the AP Coach of the Year with a ridiculously successful record

We just took another one of your coaches.

Nobody’s questioning if he was a good coach in the PAC-12.

This will decide who really has the better program: LSU or Bama.
I figured the decades of arse whipping and lopsided record in Alabama favors, not to mention the number of national titles before Saban got to Alabama would have decided that.

Who is trying to paint it as a bad hire? On paper, it seems like they knocked it out of the park. I don’t think they were getting anyone better because the Lannings, Smarts, etc. were not leaving their situation for any other job.

Sweet. Now do his recruiting rankings at Washington.
I’ll hang up and listen.

“So, 2004. Utah. For the most part, Urban Meyer signed the same kind of players that he had at Bowling Green and in his first season at Utah. Some really exciting players mixed in with a sea of mediocrity, but coached up by an absolute crazy person so it all works out in the end. In a lot of ways, Meyer was forced to be almost Tresselian in his approach to personnel.”

Urban wasn’t setting the recruiting world on fire at Utah either.. Maybe KD ends up sucking, but I would bet on him figuring it out. Winning cures a lot of things and this guy wins..
