Heads rolling. Great sign after year 1.

In at least one of these two resignations, and possibly both, CHF was given no choice in the matter by the university. Has nothing to do with FB.

This is a worse situation for Auburn that Caddy imo. Zac was key on the recruiting trail. I know he played a big part in Perry Thompson's recruitment.
Anyway, hope the best for him in the future.

He put them both on his staff for year 1, no?
Don't let honeymoon stage still be clouding your judgement. This is just kinda ugly, that's all.

Not really, Freeze actually did both a solid by letting them "resign". There is a reason both are gone and Freeze didnt have a say

You are responsible for who you put on your staff. That's why Bruce got NCAA sanctions that handicapped the basketball program for 4 years. He hired an a-hole. The buck stops where?

DOnt let your hatred of Hugh cloud your judgment. This is not uncommon, and there were obviously issues with the staff during the season.
Sometimes tough decisions must be made - its not a damning indictment on any party involved necessarily.

I never liked that it seems a requirement to have. good AU man on the staff. We should hire the best person for the job. Not saying Zach and Caddie were not the best, but I hope this will be the end of that era. Bama is gonna give Saban an office and keep him around the program. Gene Stallings 2.0.
I don’t think Freeze had a choice when it came to Zac and Caddy. If he wanted the job they had to be retained.

Is he going to the Houston Cougars or the Houston Texans?

I agree that between Zac and Caddy, Zac was the more essential recruiter and the coach with the brighter future. I thought Zac was our best recruiter under the previous regime. But these ex-player coaches who Freeze had to keep on probably didn't feel like they were dependent on Hugh for their job, and that could have affected staff dynamics. I care nothing about sordid rumors. It is good for Caddy and Zac to progress their careers elsewhere, and for Freeze to hire the staff he wants... and for that staff to be completely beholden to Freeze. Even if you hate Freeze, this at least frees up the next Head Coach to clean house and hire who he wants.

I don't dislike Hugh and hope he can get this thing turned around. All I'm saying is I don't really like the things I'm seeing right now. Is that sacrilege?

If true then that is bogus and guess it's some more JABA. Don't think it's true though because I'm pretty sure in Hugh's opening presser he said something along the lines of "MY first recruiting job was to retain Caddy and we got him!"

Oh no!! First Carnell and now Zac?

Well he was selling himself to us in the same way pitboss is selling bringing Petrino home. That means nothing. Fans didnt want Hugh.
He also said through the portal he would turn our program around very quickly and we see how that has gone.
The whole shitshow November 2022 that resulted in some weird love affair for a coach that isnt that special is the reason why he had to keep Caddy.

This is probably true but he still said it and he's responsible for who he does and doesn't hire.

Yeah. That was window dressing. His hands were tied with Caddy. I never felt like Hugh was going to keep him in the long run. It looks like Caddy took care of it for him.

I hate our beat writers. Hint at something scandalous but never say anything so the fanbase goes nuts with rumors.
Then Zac goes to Houston. But they all report “Zac resigns from Freeze’s staff”. Clearly making it sound worse on purpose.
