I want Dillon Gabriel as Bama's QB next year if Lanning is the hire.

Kiffin or Dabo. Both are consistent winners who understand Alabama. Dabo has coached in 4 national title games and won two at Clemson. Clemson.

Lanning is a flash in the pan.

I mean, he could’ve called more timeouts.

I kid, I kid.

I want nothing to do with Dabo. The game has passed him by and I don’t think he’s going to catch up. Give me Sark, Lanning, DeBoer, or Kiffin before I even begin to consider maybe calling Dabo.

There isn't a home run hire out there except maybe Kirby and he's not leaving UGA. Getting any of Deboar, Kiffin, or Lanning to be willing to follow the GOAT of cfb is a win in my book.

It was a matter of time but I have 0 and I mean 0 negativity against Coach Saban. He gave me memories with my family and friends I simply wouldn’t have being an Alumni of any other University in the US. It’s bigger than football for me.

No normal person could have any negative feelings towards Saban over deciding to retire. He has given it his all for us. What he has done for the University on and off the field is simply incredible. We paid him very well but he could have taken it elsewhere and didn't and finished his career at Bama

I think Dabo is by far the best gameday coach out of all the choices, but Clemsons recruiting has fallen off since the Potal and NIL came to be.

He has been a great recruiter in the past, they had Deshaun Watson, Trevor Lawrence, and people forget that even though DJU was a bust there he was the top QB in his class and Dabo landed him.

I think he could for sure pull in top classes at Bama.

Sounds like Lanning is the first choice and I like him too, we will see how it plays out.
Dabo is my top choice.

Dabo

Yeah, the guy who is not adapting to NIL or the portal is not the right choice. He might’ve been the right choice if this were 2018, but he isn’t the right choice now.

I’ll share my info from a source very loosely and distantly connected to me. They may or may not know what the hell they are talking about. We’ll see.
It’s Miss Terry’s health that caused the abrupt decision. Conflicting reports that it’s early onset Alzheimers or cancer but whichever one, untreatable. Byrne was told within the last week it was probably coming but very few people knew. Byrne has been given a blank check and a list of 6 pre-approved candidates and a mission to bring one back. Number 1 on the list was Sark. I’ve been told just a little while ago he has already turned it down. Next on the list is Lanning; it’s his job to turn down but if he does, #3 Kiffin has already said yes and is waiting for Lanning’s decision. The players have been told to slow down on portal talk, that a coach would be hired by the weekend and then they could decide what they want to do. TIFWIW and the situation is fluid and all that. I hope I have shared some real info.

Man, I really hope it’s not a major health issue for either of them. They are great people and deserve to enjoy their retirement.

Read up on NewSpring church in Clemson and its connection to Dabo and its downfall. Ever since that took place it’s directly coincided with Clemsons downturn. The pipeline was effectively cut off. Now with NIL and Dabo’s position on that and the portal, they’re just another team out there.

Have we confirmed 100% that Lanning is coming/in T Town?

BOL guys are saying Byrne had no idea until 2pm today. And that due to Lanning’s 20 million buy out he’s unlikely.

Also said Kiffin was a long shot as well.

I think going young may be the way to go. Dabo has arse-backwards views on immutable realities of cfb in the 2020s. I don't think Alabama can hire a man with the views on NIL that Dabo has...

I wouldn’t be mad at all at Kiffen tbh but I’d be pretty pissed if it’s Dabo. You guys are living in the past with Dabo. He’s done in this era.

Our guys would flock to the portal if he was hired. His method of not letting commits visit other schools doesn’t work if you want the best recruits.

Lanning is unproven mostly and young but he’s inheriting a loaded roster and the best brand in CFB.

Kirby was early 40s and UGA his first job when he was hired.

I know Ryan Day is losing to Michigan and their fans hate him but would you guys turn your nose up at 11-1 every year after Saban? Day is actually more consistent than Urban. He doesn’t get blown out to teams like Iowa or Purdue and he recruits really well. Day was unproven and young getting the OSU job.

Day and Kirby have shown going young can work. Trying to hire someone like Dabo isn’t the move. No reason Lanning can’t do something similar. I think it can work. Most important part is keeping our roster in tact mostly.
