Only way that play would have worked was for #77 to audible and block (and maul) the defender #81 missed on and then milroe follow right behind him.
Outside of that, that play was dead at the bad snap

0 is the "read" and he comes upfield to take away the throw. 77 was supposed to block 9 from Michigan. He pulls a little too wide and 9 would have had a chance to make the tackle. The low snap delayed everything and caused the play to fail according to Saban, but it still wasn't blocked perfectly but few plays are.

Definitely not the look you want to run that play into. Everyone would have to been absolutely perfect on the play for it to work. I personally hate pulling guys inside the 5.. just so many things that can go wrong and much less space to make something happen.

I agree.
The most painful thing (for me), was that in real-time it looked like Milroe just fell down on his face... if he would have hit someone and tried to fight for it, it may have left a different taste in my mouth. It looked horrible in real-time

Wonder if the jump pass would have been a good option here. Run up the gut then stop and toss it over their heads.

Not sure if Dippre was eligible or not, but no one would have covered him had he chipped the end and ran to the back of the end zone.

I watched Kiffin the other night scheme a guy open standing in the endzone without a defender within 10 yards of him so wide open the only fear was that the QB would throw it over his head or he would drop it out of shock that he was so open.

How do you feel about Kiffin’s star RB Judkins transferring? Seems like a culture problem.

It really sounds more like a character issue with Judkins' family than it does any issues with the Ole Miss program.

Yea these pics make it pretty obvious why Milroe made this decision. I could'nt understand why he'd chose to go into the meat of the defense 3-4 yards out but it makes sense.
I still don't like the play call. The QB run was working in the game but still...the reason it failed is why I hate the call. Let your QB have the option to use his speed to run it in by rolling out or he can throw it in the endzone.

I heard they “claim” they didn’t get what they were promised for him playing last season.
He, like most players in the portal does seem to be looking for the highest bidder.

I just got in, and haven't even heard about that. I'm sure its money related.
My next thought is Lane will find somebody out of HS nobody has ever heard of, or sign a free agent out of the portal, and take whoever it is and make them look better than our starting RB this season no matter who it is.
Be honest, was this not the most boring season of RB play you have ever witnessed at Bama ? I dare somebody to give me an example of a more boring rotation than Jase and Roy with Rees at the helm.

But like I said, it was an RPO where the decision to throw is made at the snap. The snap was at Jalen’s shins and sideways. It almost certainly took his eyes off the read at least partially. The bad snap killed the play unless:
A)Milroe gets lucky and runs to a random hole
Or
B) Milroe hastily throws it out to the back regardless of read and both the throw is on target and the blocking by the wideouts is sufficient

The only problem with you theory is he never looked left where the options where at. He looked right, and then dove up the middle.
No doubt it was all a cluster, and the coaches deserve as much blame as mclaughsnap and milroe, but looking at the play I cant see anything other than pure panic. Bro, He Dove into the pile without a foot on the ground to run forward, and landed like what ? four yards from the endzone ? lol Pure panic.
