You son of a bitch.

All bullshite aside, let's just focus on practice and A-Day from now on. We aren't changing anyone's mind about any of this stuff anyway.

Even though we would be better off going back to a traditional I formation with a true fullback.

Milroe will be the starter and will wear a white helmet with a Crimson script A.

not doing this stupid bullshite yall. I actively tried to avoid any type of political discussion because i sincerely don’t find any value in this type of discussion with these types of people.

I simply asked that we avoid veering into politically adjacent bullshite in the fricking football thread and there was no real need for it to become a Fox News echo chamber to say Saban had started to soften with age.

But go off I guess
you have become insufferable

I haven’t “become” anything. I’m the same guy I was posting years ago.

The difference is that everyone didn’t have to jam their political opinion into every single thing back then. This is a sports board about Alabama football. There is a poli board on this site. There are an innumerable amount of political boards where people can argue or get on Facebook and be in their echo chamber.

By pure nature of this being a fandom in the state of Alabama(which trends very heavily Red) of a team in the city of Tuscaloosa(which trends Blue, especially amongst students and college graduates) then bringing up hot button issues and very loosely tying them into football is going to cause a bunch of shite between people who would otherwise like each other.

Case in point: I was a regular on this board for years and had a really great rapport with a ton of guys. People liked my sense of humor and having a different view on things. I haven’t really changed anything about me. But now it’s 2024 and everyone has to be pissed off about everything. And yeah if someone randomly brings up a protest from 4 years ago that Nick Saban took part in out of the blue as a cited example of how he’d gone soft or bought in to wokeness to keep players happy then I feel obligated to call that out as being bullshite.

I probably don’t have the same world view as 80% of this board. But we like the same football team and this is a place I like to learn and joke and bullshite about football without feeling like I’m at my redneck uncle’s Thanksgiving.

Ready for this weekend. Watching the Bama baseball game live on Friday. Then A day(with the Stallions on my phone) and then off to my brother’s house for UFC 300

Hoping to see a breakout from Caleb Odom and he seems like the type that has a crazy A day and gets people talking wild.

I think we could go another couple of decades without another lunatic like Agiye. He would go on Twitter and search his name and like and retweet all the negative stuff about himself. Truly unhinged.

Had all the talent in the world and just a knucklehead of epic proportions. I don’t think I remember a player get bounced that many times without there being something criminal or of that ilk. And no one picked him up after Texas. Football collectively decided “this kid is way too big a pain in the arse for me to even try to rehabilitate”

He’s going to be 40 in a bar showing people a spring game highlights. Oof.

You sound like someone who is making an attempt at civility, which is laudable. You would have more success if your arrogance didn't burst through from time to time. So, you feel like you are at your "redneck uncle's Thanksgiving" when someone has a different opinion? And blue is the persuasion of "college graduates"? This shows an ignorance and arrogance that betrays and undermines any attempts at civility.

Btw, plenty of college graduates are "red", in fact, most of the college graduates, PhDs and MDs I know would be considered "red". Though most don't care for politics or choosing sides. But they are wiser than any of the blues I know, some of whom are sincere and self-righteous but typically very foolish, especially regarding life. Reds have problems too, but very different ones.

No one appreciates or enjoys the smug or arrogant but at least you seem to be trying to endure your "red" football brethren.

If you guys don't mind, maybe we can steer the conversation back to football? Some notes from the scrimmage I've been hearing

- Wilkin Thornby getting reps with the 1's at RT
- Milroe, Simpson and Lonergan all had solid outings Saturday, with Simpson impressing the most.
- Michigan DB transfer Keon Sabb has hit the ground running, apparently
- Jihaad Campbell emerging as a leader on the defense
- Qua Russaw may be another beast in waiting at pass rusher for 'Bama

Any other info leading up to A-Day would be very welcome. I know how starved for anything 'Bama some of us can get during the off-season, myself included.
