I think maybe because then there wouldn't be a bowl game after a signature bowl game already? Since the Orange/Sugar/Rose/Fiesta are destination bowls, they'd want to be a part of the final four and not the elite 8?

I may not have been clear. What I mean is look at Florida State versus Liberty University. That is a home game at Florida State.

Then the winner plays Alabama in the Orange bowl for 2nd round.

I am thinking it should be reversed.

Florida State and Liberty should play in the Orange bowl for the first round, , and the winner goes to play at Tuscaloosa the next week for the quarter Final.

The top seed should get the home game.

It is super weird that the MIDDLE seeds (5-8) get an extra home game out of the deal. I don't know how it works financially in regards to ticket sales, but concessions and all the other revenue is going to a team that finished 5th-8th.

The real problem was the 12 game field instead of 8. Then the top 4 seeds play at home, the semis are the two bowl games and then the championship. Also, we finish around Jan 10 as we're supposed to do. But here it is. They wanted to have bowl games at least 4 of them mean something.
