so we no longer use outcomes of games played first, and just skip straight ahead to hypotheticals?

It's common sense.

We can use the season as a whole. Bama absolutely has a playoff resume. So does Texas. So does FSU.

Can you honestly sit here and tell me that FSU has a better chance of beating Michigan/Washington than Bama or Texas do?

Does Washington have a better chance at beating the other 3 than UGA or Ohio State or even LSU has? You think Washington would be favored on a neutral site over 3 loss LSU?
Washington gives up 390ypg. LSU gives up 409ypg.
While Washington has a good offense, they still aren't close to being better than LSU's.
LSU's worst offensive game was a 459yard 24point output against top 15 defense FSU, and that was with us getting 0 points on two different red zone trips.
Our other bad offensive game, against a top 20 defense was 478 yards of offense and 28 points, and could have been more if not for a piece of shite defender illegally tackling JD and knocking him out of the game at teh beginning of the 4th quarter.
Wershington had 3 games where they had under 306 total yards of offense, scoring 9, 20, and 24 offensive points in those games, and that was against defenses ranked 89th, 38th and 78th.

we aren't here to guess who's better. that's why we play the regular season and award the 4 best regular season teams to play in the playoffs. Alabama would be favored over Texas today, as would UGA, but Texas is the more deserving team to be in the playoffs.

Georgia and Ohio St, most probably not.

LSU, yes.

But all those of those teams are missing a key ingredient. A conference title.

What about Bama's near loss to Auburn? Needed a miracle to beat...frickING AUBURN.

Yep.

N. Mexico State played Auburn better.

No. Again, common sense. I know it, you know it, everybody knows it. Some just won't admit it because you hate Bama that much.

they lost a game.

that used to matter in this sport more than what we predict the future to be.
no matter how obvious you think that future is.

And lost at home by two scores.

That didnt happen to FSU, even without a starting QB.

First of all, if you don't hate Bama GTFO. Second, it's not common sense. It's a guess. Nothing more. The committee just guessed, and now all they have to do is hope they guessed right. We'll never know if they "got it right." We can only think they did. Thank God all this gut-feeling bullshite is put to rest next year.

Nice straw man.

I'm your Huckleberry...

What if we're FSU? What if we lose Burrow? What if we are undefeated and JD goes out the way Travis did?

Exactly.

There is no more objectivity in choosing seeds, just "feelings"

I hate Bama as much as anybody. I just have the ability to look at things without bias, and some of you obviously do not. Had it been LSU that lost to Texas early, and then completely looked like a different team now the same people arguing against Bama would be screaming for LSU to be in. People can deny that as much as they want, but it's the truth.

We aren't FSU. We don't play in the ACC.
