They tried different players and moving them around to no avail. Sometimes it bes that way I guess.

I don’t know much about the guy so I’m sure the Hog fan frustrations probably have some justification to them. That said, the guy was a Broyles award semifinalist two years ago, and Arkansas was one of the best rushing teams in the country in 2021 and 2022. Pass protection was never a strength but it got much worse this year.
Might this be a case where Kennedy was just a better fit for a Briles style offense (which Lebby runs) than the steaming pile of doo doo that was the Enos offense?
If you look at Lebby’s presumed hires on offense, they are all guys that either worked with him or Kendal in the last 3-4 years (Bumphis being the lone exception). So he’s clearly valuing familiarity with his offense. It’s not that different on paper from the staff Leach brought from Wazzu, which was underwhelming initially but it ultimately worked out. Having a staff that’s all on the same page isn’t a bad thing. I won’t pretend this is an all star squad, I’m pretty sure Lebby got told no thanks by some more well known names in that coaching tree. But I don’t have a big issue on the surface with what he’s going for.

Make no mistake, the line sucked, but they weren't always to blame.

Quite possible... offense had effectively most of the same guys and sputtered out of the gate.
Enos "system" definitely exposed the flaws, but the OL issues seemed deeper than just scheme. Perfect storm of terrible play calling combined w/ personnel that either didn't fit or couldn't block.

Not that I disagree with you.....but how is that relevant to Cody Kennedy?
Most P5 football programs are able to attract successful head coaches from lower conferences and levels to fill their vacancies.
But now twice in a row, Miss. St. has had to settle for hiring an assistant coach rather than a current head coach from somewhere.

Why WOULDN'T a school like Miss St try to get an up and coming coordinator as their HC? For programs that have to deal with lower budgets, less NIL, etc you need a HC who is super strong at scheme. You get some CEO type there and eventually coordinator attrition is going to get them.

Willie Fritz and Jon Sumrall interviewed for the State job and absolutely would’ve taken it. Our AD just preferred Lebby, which I would have too, honestly. We badly need a revamp on offense and more enthusiasm in the program, which Lebby should bring and I don’t know that the other options would have. I think Fritz and Sumrall give you a higher floor whereas Lebby has a higher ceiling if all goes well.

Just so we’re clear…..you are aware that they did not hire Cody Kennedy as their head coach, right?
I just want to make sure before I fully throw your failed educational system bullshite which Louisiana currently takes the crown as shittiest back in your face.

Historically, Miss State is a losing program. Arkansas is not. Miss State has beaten Arkansas during our worst years ever. we can claim y’all beat us only because of Chad and Bielema.

Ruskie, we're discussing a position coach.

Settle? Did OSU settle for Ryan Day? Did OU settle on Venables? Did UGA settle on Smart? Sometimes coordinators work out.
Not including Arnett's situation, Leach was a HC. Moorhead had been a HC.

According to the official release from Starkville, Kennedy is in fact going to coach down the OL at Mississippi State.

That's just football ignorant because it's wrong.

If you know anything about position coaches from other schools then you’re just beyond pitiful.
