Did a great job firing Leachs staff and tearing down everything Leach built. Cigar boys hated Leach, he told them to GTFO, so now they got their boy in Arnett and look at them

wrong, I created an account to create an account to say gthom, and other various things. it just so happens that a supposed state fan gets on here talking about something of which he has no idea. I never said "my" name is on the side of the stadium; I said my famuhlee's name is. Of course a black bear wouldn't know that the gates around the stadium have donor names above them. Thing is, I realize the landsharks keep perpetuating this myth that state is in the pits of hell with our NIL, but that's simply not true. Look, I'm pleased that we could show little brother how to win a national title, but you've gotten too big for your britches: our NIL is fine. You'd better be worried about that coach of yours Dan Mullen'ing your asses every November for the rest of his time there.

Sports especially football helps boost the academic side. Alabama is a great example of this

not so sure about that. cohen being gone would be an inflection point and that lines up with the timeline. its plausible...cohen allowed us to get behind by not staying in front. the rest of the sec saw the writing on the wall...all signs point to cohen completely ignoring the issue.

You sir are a man of great taste. I enjoy a nice cigar myself with a glass of Irish Whiskey (on ice with just a twist of water).

“Who ponied up the $$ for Jackie $herill back in the early 90s?”

That was a donor from Meridian (possibly Davis Wade or maybe someone else). Wrote a check for $500,000 (which was a ton of money in 1990) and directed the AD Larry Templeton to go to HOU and not return to Starkvegas until Sherrill was in tow.

That was one of the best things that ever happened to State even with the way the last two years of his tenure went. From 1991-2000, we went toe to toe with anybody and everybody.

The Duff brothers are the wealthiest residents in Miss, and are USM alums. They're building the 100,000sq ft Jim and Thomas Duff Center at State.

Sure you have your Davis Wade's (founder of AFLAC) but they are making one time donations. Hell, one of State's richest alums has a SEC rival coach in their commercial. Those guys don't GAF about Mississippi State football.

Floyd Davis Wade Sr., supporter of Mississippi State athletics and other programs, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, in Meridian. Wade was reared in Newton County, and some say he knew the state as well as a timber man. He was the co-founder of and director for AFLAC.

Wade is most noted for his gifts to MSU. The football stadium expansion was initiated largely due to Wade's financial contributions. Wade, who was a longtime supporter of Bulldog athletics, made a financial commitment to aid MSU in beginning the expansion in 1999.

Don’t know how involved the rest of the family still is but George Bryan Sr. passed away in January.

How about Richard Ackerson? He’s one of the top paid CEO’s out there (Freeport McMoran). He’s a big donor for state as well isn’t he?

Yes, not sure how much goes toward NIL but he did just give a lot of money toward the Humphrey Coliseum renovation. So much so that it’s now Adkerson Court. Lol.

That is not true. The money goes to Texas A&M in College Station. They decide where the money goes.
What does your comment about oil have to do with anything. Not all of either school's endowment is based on oil. If it was, so what. Dollars are dollars.

The comment of we cannot compete as State schools in endowment is absolutely incorrect.

Just say, sorry, I did not know that those two state schools are in the top eight in the nation in endowment funds.

Just admit you were wrong.

Look at who hired Arnett. That’s the person making academic administrative hires as well.

This was explained to me a decade or so ago. Take someone like Jimmy Rane (Yellawood guy). He's a billionaire and his company makes $1 billion a year in revenue. He has a lot of influence at Auburn. At Mississippi State, there is a group of guys (The Cigar Boys). These are guys that have net worths of a million or so and run small/mid-size companies that together wouldn't have $100 million in revenue. Sure you have your Davis Wade's (founder of AFLAC) but they are making one time donations. Hell, one of State's richest alums has a SEC rival coach in their commercial. Those guys don't GAF about Mississippi State football. But the Cigar Boys do. But they don't have FU money to throw around. Need $25k, sure we can get that together. Need $5 million? Aint going to happen. The Cigar Boys love them some baseball too. So if they are going to play the NIL game, its going to be baseball. They hated Mullen because he wouldn't kiss their arse. They hated Moorhead because he wouldn't kiss their arse. They hated Leach because he told them to kiss his arse. Arnett did what he was told. He was told to shed the Air Raid and he did. It ruined any chance of us having a decent season. This is the first coaching hire for our AD. He's an Oklahoma guy so he's been around a good football program. But the Cigar Boys are going to be way too involved in this hire and we are going to screw it up.

You went through all this drivel to not even mention Richard Adkerson? Uhh… the guy the school of accountancy is named after? Paid for a ton of Humphrey Coliseum renovations? Has his name on the court?

Nothing about the Bryans?

Not to mention all the others you missed.

Take your pathetic pity party back to the Croom days. Damn.
